SLTLibrary Board meeting, Thursday, July 20 at 6:45pm. Long range planning.

Mystery Lover Event: Meet authors Barbara Fournier (Now Say You’re Sorry) and David K Wilson (Sam Lawson Mystery series) at a special event Saturday, July 22. Q & A at 11am; book signing 11:30 – 12:30. All proceeds will be donated to the library’s children’s programs in memory of Richard and Barbara Bittig.

Kids Movie Night, Monday, July 24 at 6pm. Popcorn and juice provided.

Science Tuesdays: July 25 & Aug. 8 at 2pm. Build rockets – learn chemistry! First – Fifth grade.

Lego Club Tuesdays 3:30 – 6:00. We have the blocks, you supply the imagination!

North Greenbush Public Library Update

Come to pre-school storytime on Tuesday, at 11 AM in the Town Annex, for stories, and a fun craft. Don’t miss our Thursday Crafternoons in the Children’s Room, between 3-5 PM.

Get BEE-zzy with our make-your-own “Bee” Friendship Bracelets on Wednesday, July 26, at 5:30 PM. Teens and adults are welcome!

Our Virtual Book Club will meet via Zoom on Tuesday, July 25, at 6:30 PM for a lively discussion of “An Immense World” by Ed Yong. Call the library for the Zoom link.

“BEE” in it to win prizes! Our All Together Now summer reading challenge continues through August 19. Children, teens, and adults are all welcome.

The Board of Trustees of the North Greenbush Library District is seeking two new library trustees to restore the Board to full membership of 11 trustees. Attend the Board of Trustees monthly meeting on Thursday, July 27 at 7 PM in the meeting room at Eastwyck Village and see what being a trustee entails. If you are a resident of North Greenbush and interested in learning more about being a trustee, call the library at 518-283-0303. The public is welcome to attend the monthly meeting

Library hours are Monday-Friday, 10 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday, 10 AM to 2 PM.

Walking Storytime at Schodack Island State Park – Wed., 7/26, 2:30pm – Location: We’ll meet at the beginning of the StoryWalk (near the playground) at Schodack Island State Park. Held outdoors, weather permitting. Join us to explore the current StoryWalk book together, and then do a craft!

Special Visitor Storytime: Bees – Thu., 7/27, 10:30am – Learn all about bees at this special storytime with Bee Hollow Farm!

Cool Science: Slime – Thu., 7/27, 3:00-5:00pm – Get messy learning about the science behind slime, and make your own slime to take home!

Create a Chain Reaction – Fri., 7/28, 10:00am-6:00pm – Using our special kit, set up a course of ramps, hammers, pendulums, and more, then watch the chain reaction.

Bridge Club – Fri., 7/28, 10:30am – Come play bridge with us! Geared toward beginners and players who need a refresher.

Crafternoon – Sat., 7/29, 10:00am-4:00pm – We have lots of craft supplies – bring your imagination and make something awesome! All ages welcome.

North Chatham Free Library (NCFL) Announces Its Popular “Cocktails in the Garden”

Enjoy signature cocktails, captivating conversation, and an array of scrumptious hors d’oeuvres at the “Cocktails in the Garden” fundraiser hosted by the North Chatham Free Library on Saturday, August 19, from 5 to 8 P.M. in the library garden. 

The cost per person is $50 and reservations are required by Sunday, August 12 due to limited space. To secure a spot, simply sign-up on the library’s updated website at: https://northchathamlibrary.org/about/fundraising/fundraising-events/

All Together Now at the SLTL

Save the Date! The Sand Lake Town Library Friends invite you to an event on Saturday, August 12th at the library. The Summer Reading theme is “All Together Now,” so we’ll not only celebrate kids who participated in the library’s summer reading program, but we’ll have activities and fun for kids of all ages! (By the way, It’s not too late for kids to sign up to track their reading and win prizes. Stop by the library at 8428 Miller Hill Road–it’s above the Town Hall–to find out more.)
