Lego Club Thursday, 6/29, 6pm: Children of all ages join together to create and play, using the library’s large collection of LEGOS.

Master Gardeners July Vegetable Planting for Fall Harvest- Thursday, July 6, 6pm: Bob Wieboldt from the CCE Master Gardener Program will discuss selecting and starting vegetables to plant in July for Fall harvest, and the best vegetables to interplant among existing crops.

Cupcake Decorating- Mon. 7/10 2-3pm: Decorate cupcakes with frosting, sprinkles, candy & more to share with a friend.

Make a Quilt Square- Wed. 7/12 2-4pm: Stop in anytime between 12-4pm to make a quilt square for our library community quilt.

Open Mic Night- Fri. 7/14 6:30-8:30pm: Perform or be a part of the audience. Watch local talent bring creativity and expression to the library. Performers need to come 15 minutes early to set up.

Jam Making for Teens & Adults- Tues. 7/18 2-4pm: Join us with an adult or solo to learn all about making your own homemade jam. 

Mad Science of the Capital District: Dinosaurs! Wed. 7/19 2-3pm: Mad Science will bring their dinosaur program to our library. Examine fossil casts, make a cast of a dinosaur tooth, and do a mini dinosaur excavation. Geared towards kids grades K-2. 

Reptile I Spy Scavenger Hunt- Week of 7/24: Use your keen eyes to spot reptile pictures around the library and earn a small prize. 

Graphic Design Hour Tues. 7/25 2-3pm: Addy, a local college student, will be here to teach you about graphic design. Make a mini-book and a button with your own designs.

Uncharted Wild- Thursday 7/27 2-3pm: A reptile invasion at the library. Adam from Uncharted Wild will bring many reptiles for us to see touch.

Sand Lake Town Library Closings and Events

SLT Library will be closed Tuesday, July 4th for Independence Day.

Summer Storytime starts on Wednesday, July 5 at 11am with “summer.”

Book Club meets Wednesday, July 5 offsite to discuss “Last Pick,” by Pierce O’Donnell. August’s book is “The Personal Librarian” by Marie Benedict.

Monday Movie night July 10 at 6pm. Enjoy popcorn & a movie on the big screen tv.

Lego Town Saturday July 1, 1 PM. Ages 6-12. Create a building for a Lego Brick town. Participants can also bring in finished buildings to go into the group picture.

NCFL Announces Understanding Hospice On Tuesday, July 11 at 10 A.M.

North Chatham Free Library Announces, “Understanding Hospice” Part II of Its Preparing for Dying, Death and Bereavement Series on Tuesday, on July 11 at 10 A.M.

Join Caitlin St. George from The Community Hospice, who will discuss at the North Chatham Library, 4287 Rt. 203, the care, support, and services that Hospice offers both patients and their families. Attendees will learn how and when to engage Hospice services as starting early can lead to a better Hospice experience and better quality of life. Through this program attendees will: 

• Understand the difference between Hospice and Palliative Care  • The criteria for enrollment in Hospice  • How Hospice is paid for • Where care is provided • What happens after your loved one passes – Bereavement care.

NCFL Hosts Children’s Summer Programs

North Chatham Free Library Announces Its Summer Children’s Program Slated for Thursday Afternoons Beginning July 6 Through August 3 at 4 P.M. 

Discover a world of fun and fascination in the Back Garden of the North Chatham Free Library (NCFL) so don’t miss: 

Robinson’s Wildlife Lectures – World of Animals Program, returning by popular demand, will feature an assortment of reptiles and birds of prey. Both entertaining and educational, presenter Brian Robinson will provide examples of successful environmental efforts as well as the inspiration to solve the problems of today and the future. 7/6/23. 

Up next is Mineral Mania Geodes where you can become aware about the earth’s crust and investigate how rocks were formed. Find out how to identify and classify both rocks and minerals.
