2/28, 2-4p: Tech Tuesday: Lifestyle Apps. Learn how to search for free or paid mobile apps that will enhance your daily lifestyle or support your favorite hobbies.

North Greenbush Public Library Update

In celebration of Presidents’ Day, the library will be closed on Monday, February 20. We will reopen Tuesday, February 21, at 10 AM.

Take a break from the cold and bring your children to our pre-school storytime every Tuesday morning at 11 AM, in the Annex in North Greenbush Town Hall. Each week has a unique theme, with stories, songs, games, and a related craft. 

Children a little older can join us for Crafternoons every Thursday in the library’s Children’s Room, between 3 and 5 PM, featuring a different craft

each week.

Stumped by your digital device? Don’t despair. Digital Literacy Educator Delia Hubbard will be at the library Wednesday, February 15, from 1-2 PM. Bring your cellphone, laptop, or tablet for answers to your questions. Reserve a time by calling the library or just drop in.

Get in the know! The monthly meeting of the NGPL Board of Trustees is slated for Thursday, February 23, at 7 PM, in the meeting room at Eastwyck Village, 1 Eastwyck Circle off Best Road. The public is welcome to attend.

“Beartown” by Frederik Backman is the February Virtual Book Club selection. Join in the discussion via zoom on Tuesday, February 28, at 6:30 PM. Pick up a book at the circulation desk and email: library@nullnorthgreenbushlibrary.org to receive the meeting link.

Our Tween Book Club (ages 10-12) will discuss “The Westing Game” by Ellen Raskin on Saturday, March 4, at noon. Come for the talk, snacks and a craft!

Dungeons and Dragons – Wed., Feb 15, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. (Lansingburgh) Join gamemaster Ernst every Wednesday as he leads you through perilous adventuring and epic storytelling. 

Adult Yoga – Wed., Feb 15, 5:30-6:30 p.m. (Lansingburgh) A class that is focused on a gentler style of hatha yoga practice. All skill levels are welcome, modifications will be provided. Please wear loose/comfortable clothing and bring your yoga mat.

Greenbush Historical Society Presents “Up From Troy”

Please join the Greenbush Historical Society on February 12, 2 PM, at the East Greenbush Community Library when Jim Flanigan will talk about growing up locally and his many years of public service in Rensselaer County. Mr. Flanigan is the author of two memoirs, “Up From Second Street” and “The Great Paper Chase.” He was a member of the North Greenbush Town Board for 24 years, was employed in the administration of Rensselaer ARC for 34 years, and taught both on the high school and college levels. 

Mr. Flanigan’s talk with recollections of his years spent in Rensselaer County is sure to bring back memories of events from the past. Plan to be at the library on February 12 for a journey down memory lane with author, Jim Flanigan.
