AP Sports From the Chief by Eric Schuman 11.15.18

It was a quiet week for Averill Park sports as the transition from fall to winter sports began. AP girls’ cross-country runner Logan Barsalow competed in the Class B New York State Championships in Long Island on 11/10. Barsalow placed 41st out of the 113 competing runners after posting an outstanding time of 20:29.8.

AP’s winter sports started up with their practices and tryouts this week. In the coming weeks, games featuring the AP’s boys’ and girls’ basketball, indoor track, bowling, and wrestling teams will all be available to watch. Averill Park has also merged with Columbia, Colonie, Tamarac, and Shaker to form a Varsity hockey team.
