Sectional play was fully underway for our varsity teams last week.

The #3 seeded softball team faced Hudson Falls in the first round of sectionals on 5/20, where they won 17-3. Maisie Dawson, Bella Mahar, Molly Eaton, Bella Mancino and Abbey Nagel all went deep in the win. Nagel went 3-4 with four RBIs while Dawson went 2-3 with three RBIs.

The baseball team opened up the first round of sectionals with a big 4-0 win over Amsterdam on 5/20. Aidan Mccue only gave up three hits in a full game effort. Along with Mccue, Alex Yash, Michael Wormuth, Brady Mazzeo, Steve Koval, Jacob Kellar and Matt DeJulio all had hits in the winning effort.

The tennis team fell to Queensbury in the sectional semifinals on 5/17, with a 6-1 final score. Christian Romer picked up the win at second singles. Greg Effman fell in a third set tiebreak while the second doubles team of Kyle Millington & Owen Perala also took it to a third set. The tennis team participated in the Section 2 individual championships on 5/20. The doubles teams of Effman & Romer and Thomas Nero & Millington both won their first round matches, defeating Whitehall and Columbia respectively. Zach Ryan advanced to the third round, defeating both Queensbury and Maple Hill in the first two rounds. Congratulations to the tennis team on an excellent season!

The lacrosse team faced Albany Academy in the first round of sectionals on 5/20, where they fell 13-9. Gianna Geraci led the girls with three goals while Lizzie Hansen added two. Lilli VanDerKar, Meghan Rivers, Gwen Jamison and Abigail Houser each added a goal as well. Congrats to the lacrosse team on a great season!
