Shorts Out Loud at the Lansingburgh Branch of the Troy Public Library

TROY – The Troy Public Library is pleased to present “Shorts Out Loud!” consisting of fifteen minutes of LIVE acoustic music followed by a contemporary short story read out loud, on Thursdays through August 19th at 6:30 PM on the lawn at our Lansingburgh Branch.

Take & Make: Ocean Animals – Kit available for pick-up 8/2-8/7 – Create crafts inspired by ocean creatures!

Cool Science: Measuring the Wind – Kit available for pick-up through 8/7 – Make an anemometer to measure the wind!

Ice Cream Science – Tue., 8/3, 1:00-4:30pm – Learn about chemistry as we create a tasty treat! Held outdoors. Registration for a specific time slot is recommended; call 518-732-0879.

Yoga – Tue., 8/3, 6:00pm – With instructor Rachel Toolan. Held outdoors. Bring your own mat. All skill levels welcome. Ages 12 & up.

Teen Time: Craft Hour- Thu., 8/5, 4:00pm – Get creative with a variety of craft supplies! For teens going into 6th-12th grades in the fall. Held outdoors. Registration recommended; call 518-732-0879.

Summer Photo Challenge – Submit photos by 8/27 – What have you been up to during Summer Reading? Send photos of you making crafts, doing science experiments, reading books, and more! If you submit photos, you could win a gift card in a randomly drawn raffle. Your photos will also be part of a showcase video at the end of the summer! Open to all ages. Meditation Group

TROY – The Troy Public Library will offer Meditation Classes on Tuesdays, August 3rd – September 28th at 2PM at our Lansingburgh Branch.

Are you interested in learning how to relax your mind and body? Come to a safe place to let go of your cares and worries. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, all are welcome. Bring your ideas and suggestions to the group!
