Nassau Free Library

NASSAU – Parking Lot Pickup Service Monday- Friday 3 pm-6 pm

We are happy to announce that library patrons can now pick up items requested online or by phone through contact-free Parking Lot Pickup service while the library building is closed! Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Place your items on hold online or by phone. Use our online catalog on our website www.nassaufreelibrary.org to search for items and place a request on the items you want. You may request items from our collection or from other libraries. Please note that quarantine procedures on items will significantly lengthen the amount of time it will take to receive holds from other libraries. This could take a week or so longer than the normal turnaround time.

Please limit your requests to 5 holds per patron at this time for Parking Lot Pickup. When your items are ready, you will get a notification via email, phone, or text.

If you prefer to place your holds over the phone, please call (518) 766-2715. We will be answering the phones between 2 and 6 pm Monday-Friday. Be sure to have your library card barcode number available when you call so that we may check-out items to your account.

Step 2: Pick up your items. When you arrive at the library during your scheduled pickup time, please call us at (518) 766-2715. Staff will bring your requested items to your vehicle and place them in your passenger side window or trunk. Please remain in your vehicle to help us maintain social distancing practices!

Step 3: Returning Library Materials Please return all library materials to our outside Book Drop Box located on our Front porch. The Nassau Free Library building remains closed to the public. Restrooms, computers, and other spaces will not be accessible. Copy/Fax Service will not be available at this time.

We will keep you posted during this transition time and we thank you for your support and patience!

The Nassau Free Library is located at 18 Church St. Nassau, NY 12123

Sand Lake Town Library Sidewalk Pickup Service

SAND LAKE – Sidewalk pickup of materials is underway. Simply place your requests online at catalog.uhls.org or by phone at 518-674-5050. You will get a notification when the materials are ready. Pickup is taking place Mon & Wed 11 – 3, Tues & Thurs 2 – 6 and Saturday 10 – 2. Call us from the parking lot and we will bring your materials out to our sidewalk pickup table. Complete instructions can be found on our website (sandlaketownlibrary.org).

Patrons will not be allowed in the library just yet, but staff can help you with reading suggestions over the phone. We can also help with your printing needs – call for more information. Checked out materials can be returned at any time to our drop boxes in front of the library.

Plans are underway for our summer reading program. While much of it may have to take place online, we will still have paper forms for those who want them and are planning to have a take home craft once a week. Updates & programs will be posted to our website as we add them.

The library staff and the Board of Trustees continue to adapt our phased reopening plan based on new information provided by the state, DOH, CDC, and Upper Hudson Library System. Our goal is to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Stay well – be well, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
