October Events at Dyken Pond EEC
Grafton –The Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center is offering the following outdoor events in October.
Aquatic Mammal Walk: Saturday, October 17: 1pm-3pm
Hike to Newcomb Pond, one of Dyken Pond’s prettiest and most secluded wetlands. Learn about the otters and beavers who live in this special area. Preregistration required. 2.5 mile round trip. Free, donations welcome.
Family Field Trip Series: Fall Birding: Wednesday, October 28: 10am-12pm
Learn how to set up and monitor a bird feeding area at home. Leave with the confidence and curriculum to engage youth in the observation and study of birds. Learn what makes a bird a bird, how to identify common birds and how to design experiments leading to hours of home engagement. Preregistration required. $5 suggested donation per youth.
Tuesday Treks: Every Tuesday: 1pm-3pm We will hike about 2-3 miles at the Dyken Pond EEC every Tuesday afternoon in October. Please call or check the website for updated conditions and possible cancellations. For adults and older teens. Leader: Leonard Tremblay. Free.
