2021 Spring Baseball Season Registration at Brunswick Youth Baseball

BRUNSWICK – Registration is open for the 2021 spring baseball season at Brunswick Youth Baseball! This season’s registration fees have been discounted for our baseball families in consideration of the ongoing pandemic and challenges facing our community.

February Events at Dyken Pond EEC

Grafton –The Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center is offering the following outdoor events for adults and older teens in February. Preregistration is required for all events at (518) 658-2055 or dykenpond@nullgmail.com.

Tuesday Treks: Every Tuesday: 12:30 – 2:30pm – Join Leonard Tremblay on a 2-3 mile hike at a moderate pace exploring the wilds of Dyken Pond Center. Each week we’ll discover new ground and nature. Hikes will be cancelled in bad weather. Preregistration required. Free.

Wildlife Tracking with Dan Yacobellis: Sunday, February 28: 9am – 12pm – Follow the tracks and trails of our furry and feathered forest inhabitants. Learn how to identify the tracks of animals and interpret the story of what they were doing when they left those tracks. Cost $20. Preregistration required.

Youth and Family Programs at Dyken Pond EEC

Grafton –Snowshoe Rentals: Available by reservation every day – Youth rentals are FREE with an accompanying adult. Adult rentals are $5. Call or email to ensure availability.

The Friday Family Forest Foray: Every Friday, February – March: 10am -11:30am – Every Friday this winter from 10am -12pm we will be exploring a different area of the park attempting to cover every inch of the park’s many trails while searching the woods for seasonal wonders. These programs end around lunch time so consider packing a picnic lunch to enjoy following the program! Preregistration required for each weekly session. Reserve snowshoes if needed for $5. All ages welcome but must be able to hike 2 miles.

Healing Mindful Nature Walk

RENSSELAER COUNTY – Saturday, March 6, 10 am – 12:30 pm, Poestenkill Community Forest. The Rensselaer Plateau Alliance’s Mindful Outdoor Guides Molly and Sandy are again partnering with Nopiates Committee to offer a safe space in nature for anyone affected by the Opioid Epidemic or addiction. Nature’s healing qualities are always here for us–sometimes we just need a little help tuning in.
