Church of the Redeemer

RENSSELAER – The Thrift Shop will be open on Saturday, October 24 and every other Saturday to allow for cleaning between openings. Please do not leave donations outside.

Diocesan guidelines of wearing face masks which cover both the nose and the mouth, using hand sanitizer, and social distancing are followed at all church activities. There is a sanitizing station as you enter the Church with face masks if you do not have your own.

Sunday services on October 25 are at 8:00 and 9:30 with coffee hour following each service. The church is marked 6 ft. intervals to aid in social distancing. Communion is by host only.

Hot Mess Crafters meet in the Hearth Room on Wednesday at 10 AM. We continue to make hats to donate to the Mariners.

Please pray for the residents of Van Rensselaer Manor that COVID 19 is contained and more residents are not infected.

The Church of the Redeemer is located in Rensselaer at the corner of Third and Catherine Streets.

Food Pantry Collection Huge Success

TROY – On Saturday, October 10, our community embraced the food drive at Hope Lutheran Church with open arms!

The collection and bake sale ran from 10am to 2pm, and we had a steady stream of cars the whole time. Some brought food, some made purchases at the bake sale, others just donated cash.

When all was said and done, five big carloads of food were collected, and the bake sale took in excess of $570!

The food and cash were split equally between CoNSERNS-U (Rensselaer) and Doors of Hope (West Sand Lake). The Social Action Committee of Hope Lutheran Church, 470 Winter Street Extension, extends a BIG thank you to the community.

Trunk or Treat

CASTLETON – The Emmanuel Reformed Church at 1150 Maple Hill Road in Castleton is planning a Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 31 from 4:30 – 6:00 pm. Bring the kids

to enjoy trick or treating as you go from trunk to trunk to gather goodies

in a safe environment. We will also have a bonfire to keep us warm as we enjoy the array of costumes on kids of all ages. What a great year to wear a mask with your costume!
