Area Veterans and Business Donate Flagpole

A flagpole dedication ceremony will take place in the Village of East Nassau at Bell Park. The park is located at the site of the Brainard Methodist Church, which was destroyed by fire.
Mayor Adam Acquario worked with Village Trustee Michael Lever, also a commander of the local AMVETS, to see if any veterans’ groups would be interested in helping secure a flagpole for the park.  Those efforts paid off when the Chandler Young Veterans Association, which includes an Auxiliary, American Legion Post 1268, VFW Post 8162, and AMVETS Post 797, contributed money. Patriot member Steven Nalley also contributed.
Commander Lever worked with local business owners Michael Dorr and John Rappold, of Earth Movers Incorporated, who donated the flagpole and their time and effort to install it.
Please join County Executive Steve McLaughlin, Mayor Adam Acquario, American Legion Commander Don Winnie, Chandler Young Veterans Association President Rich Hallock, CYVA Auxiliary President Christine Lynch, AMVETS Post 797 Commander Michael Lever, and village dignitaries for a flagpole dedication to our area veterans: MONDAY, Nov. 12,
10am, Bell Park, 2170 US Route 20, Brainard.
