Tracey Rex Reports to the People of Schodack
I believe staying in touch with constituents is an important part of serving in elective office. This report, published every month since I took office in 2016, is an example of my commitment to keeping Schodack residents informed about town government news and community events.
During September, the Town Board amended the 2022 Road Program to include the following additional roads to be resurfaced with hot-mix asphalt: Albany Avenue, Lake Shore Road, Lincoln Avenue, Rensselaer Avenue, and Washington Avenue.
The Town Board also honored three employees who recently retired after decades of dedicated and honorable service to the Town of Schodack: Michelle Dellavechia, Dispatcher at the Police Department; Ricky Lee Swartz, Operator III at the Highway Department; and Steven Larsen, Operator II at the Highway Department. Congrats to Michelle, Ricky Lee and Steven, and we wish you all well in your well-deserved retirements.
The Annual Fall Clean-Up Days will be held on October 13, 14 and 15 at the Transfer Station from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. where items can be disposed of for free or at a reduced fee. Please note: TVs and computer monitors have a limit of two per household and furniture has a limit of three per household.
Our final Document Shredder Day for this year will be held on Saturday, October 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Rensselaer City Hall, 62 Washington Street, Rensselaer. This event is open to Schodack, East Greenbush, and Rensselaer residents and has a three-box maximum per household.
I was honored to join Brownie Girl Scout Troop 1762 on September 11 as they unveiled a new plaque and landscaping at the 9/11 memorial site at the Schodack Town Park as part of their Journey and Take Action Project initiative. Thank you, Troop 1762, Peter Andrews Castleton Memorial VFW Post 7337, First Responders, and Park Manager Kevin Konig for a touching tribute and memorial that visitors will experience for years to come.

Town of Schodack Fall Clean-Up Days 2022
Schodack residents please note the Town of Schodack is sponsoring Fall Clean-up Days on October 13th, 14th and 15th at the Transfer Station on Poyneer Rd. During this event many items that normally have a charge are free and others are reduced up to 50%. The following price list is only for the dates noted above:
Refrigerators, Freezers, Air conditioners & Dehumidifier -$8.00, Tires, rimless (maximum size 16”) – $2.00*, *larger and rimmed tires priced by size, TVs, computer monitors (limit 2), Propane Tanks, Furniture (limit 3), Metal goods, Gas grills, Bicycles – FREE

Poestenkill Town Board – Special Meeting Minutes
A special Town Board meeting was held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, to vote on a proposed lawsuit settlement.
This lawsuit began when a town resident took action against the town, based on a local law passed in April 2021. The law, which was passed by a vote of 4-1 by the Town Board, created new zoning guidelines with regards to commercial wood processing. This law was drafted and ultimately passed in response to a conflict which initiated on Lynn Road in 2019.
A resolution was offered by Councilwoman Butler, seconded by Councilman Van Slyke, to approve a settlement of the litigation upon terms and conditions of a proposed settlement agreement.
After discussion, Councilwoman Butler withdrew the resolution. An additional special meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, September 21st to further consider the proposed litigation settlement.
On Wednesday, September 21st, a resolution was offered by Councilwoman Butler, seconded by Councilman Van Slyke, to approve a settlement of the litigation upon terms and conditions of a proposed agreement. The settlement was approved by a vote of 3 to 2, with Councilman Hass and Councilman Wohlleber, voting no.
As per the result of this vote, the town board agrees fully resolve and settle all claims in this litigation. As per the agreement the plaintiff will receive $225,000.

East Greenbush Town Hall, Department of Public Works, and Transfer Station Closures for Columbus Day holiday
Ellen Pangburn, Town Clerk, and Michelle Eckler, Deputy Clerk, would like to remind Town residents that East Greenbush Town Hall, Department of Public Works, and Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, October 10, 2022 for the Columbus Day holiday. If you need to reach someone during town closures, please call Dispatch at 518.479.2525.
NOTES: On Mondays the Town of East Greenbush Transfer Station is closed. On Monday, October 10th, DMV Satellite Office will be closed. REMINDER: DMV Satellite Office is only in Town Hall Court Room on Mondays from 9:00 to 3:00.
Town of East Greenbush will resume its regular business hours on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
