Join Us for Our Autumn Activities at Saint John’s Episcopal Church

Sunday in-person worship gathers at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The 8 a.m. spoken service follows a more ancient Eucharistic Rite in Elizabethan English. The 10 a.m. modern Eucharistic Rite is preceded by hymns on the tower chime and is both live-streamed and in-person. Hymns are accompanied on the regal pipe organ, and Communion music is often from contemporary repertoire. And now the choir has begun to sing again! For more information about music at Saint John’s, be in touch with Tiffany Dzembo, Choir Director, at tdzembo@nullstjohnstroy.org. Coffee hour follows in the gym. Join us!

Sunday School has resumed! Children can draw near to God as they reflect on passages of Scripture and elements of liturgy in a hands-on curriculum, Sundays from 9:50 to 11:15, beginning October 2nd. A parent information meeting will be held after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, September 25th. Lunch will be served. Be in touch with Gaby Gastelum, Children’s Christian Education Director, at ggastelum@nullstjohnstroy.org for more information. In the weeks ahead, a full schedule of children’s and family activities, including opportunities in music, will be published on the church website at www.stjohnstroy.org.

On Saturday, October 1st at 10 a.m. we will enjoy the Blessing of the Animals, in honor of Saint Francis. Bring your pets!

The Thrift Store features clothes for adults and children, household items such as small appliances, quilts and decorations, and the popular holiday room, all available at low prices for masked patrons to peruse. Hours for shopping and dropping off are from 9 to 12 on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Do stop by!

Our next food pantry, which includes fresh produce, will be Saturday, October 1st, from 10 until noon. All are welcome.

Reconnect With God

Join us in a special Sunday worship on 9/25 at 9:30 am, for everyone who wants more spiritual community in their lives! We think real relationships — with God and one another — make all the difference in the world. To celebrate this, we’ll have a special Back to Church day 9/25 starting with worship 9:30am. If you’re feeling the nudge to reconnect or check out a new church in the community, we encourage you to come visit!

Our Sunday service is an energetic contemporary worship that seeks to honor God and inspire us to follow Christ. The praise team opens worship at 9:30am followed by a timely and relevant message from our Pastor. After worship (50min), everyone is invited to stay for coffee.

We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of every month, and everyone is welcome at God’s table. Every week we share joys and concerns and pray together.

Come “Accept, Celebrate, and Share God’s Love” with us!

Saint Paul’s Church is located at 1583 Carney Road, Castleton NY 12033.

Support for Parents of Children with Disabilities

BRUNSWICK – Do you have a child with various disabilities or other needs? You are cordially invited to participate in a support group from the comfort of your own home! This is an opportunity to share concerns, insights, and resources to help navigate through both rewarding and challenging times. The host is Connie Vooys, a former special education teacher and mother to a special needs child.

The group meets via zoom on the first and third Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM, and is open to all parents and caregivers without regard to geographic or religious boundaries. If you are interested, please write to office@nullbrunswickchurch.org and Connie will send you an online link to the group and answer any questions you may have. Sometimes a bit of encouragement makes all the difference!

Cancer Support Group

BRUNSWICK – There are very few of us who have not been affected by cancer, either as a patient, family member, or friend. If you are dealing with the stress of this disease for whatever reason, talking with others in similar circumstances can be very beneficial.

A warm invitation is extended to attend a Zoom cancer support group, led once a month (the third Monday) by retired pastor Ted Wright, he himself a cancer patient. If you have any questions or would like the zoom link, please contact Ted at twright@nullbrunswickchurch.org.

This is a ministry in conjunction with Brunswick Church at 42 White Church Lane (just off Rt. 351). Our worship services are Sundays at 9:30 AM and all are welcome. Church participation is not required to have cancer support
