I am pleased to announce that the Town of North Greenbush will be having our Memorial Day Parade this year.
The parade will be Monday, May 30, 2022 @ 1:30 P.M. After 2 long years of the COVID Pandemic the town is excited to invite all to participate in the parade. If you or your group are interested in participating in this year’s parade you may email the Deputy Supervisor, Kelly Hoffman or Councilwoman Merola, who are coordinating the 2022 parade participants and line up. Rensselaer County Legislature – Minority Office – April 2022 Monthly Report
99 – Troy Road Purchase: The purchase of the Rose Kiernan Building in East Greenbush was the first resolution of the April meeting. The Minority legislators had lots of unanswered questions, with many of them coming from the public who are very concerned about the relocation of services from the City of Troy to a suburban location. With no definite and clear plans, its unconscionable to vote in support of a $ 10 million price tag. Due to the lack of a formal process or public input and the request to table the resolution until May was denied by the Majority, the legislators decided not to support the resolution at this time.
Troy Senior Center: The Legislature unanimously approved the purchase of kitchen equipment for the new downtown Troy Senior Center. We were shown a plan of the new space, which besides the new kitchen will have a sitting area, dining area, an art room, a theater/presentation space, a versatile game room, 3 offices and storage. The anticipated opening is scheduled for Early to Mid-Summer.
Probation: The legislature unanimously approved and confirmed Linda McMahon as the new Acting Director of the Probation Department, after the retirement of Laura Bauer.
Public Works: With the new Spring and Summer roadwork season in full swing, many contracts for various highway projects and their needed supplies and equipment were approved and extended.

Rensselaer County Legislature Announces a Successful Electronics Recycling Event
Rensselaer County Legislature Chairwoman Kelly Hoffman is proud to announce that Electronics Recycling Day was a huge success. Thanks to the hundreds of residents that chose to responsibly recycle their electronics; over 11.2 tons of recyclables were kept out of landfills.
This annual recycling event is sponsored by the Legislature and its Environmental Management Council is very popular with county residents. The County Legislators that participated thoroughly enjoyed the workout of unloading all of the items from the hundreds of vehicles that lined up over the course of the day.
North Greenbush Supervisor Joe Bott, and Legislators Scott Bendett, Tom Choquette, Bill Maloney, Brian Stall, Rob Bayly, County Executive Steve McLaughlin, and County Court Judge Deb Young all joined Chairwoman Kelly Hoffman in braving the cold and rainy weather.

The Town Clerk’s office would like to let all North Greenbush residents who are receiving or renewing a Permanent or Temporary Parking Permit of the new changes in the process of obtaining a (handicap) tag. You will now need to bring your driver’s license or non-driver’s license with you to obtain your tag.
We will now place the last 3 digits of your license’s number on all tags you receive. If you should have any questions on this process, please do not hesistate to call the office @ 518-283-4306, Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:00 pm and I will be happy to assist you in any way that I can.
