Brunswick Church Vacation Bible School
TROY – Brunswick Church 42 White Church Lane Troy will hold VBS from 9-12 on July 5-9. It is free to all children age 4 through finished grade 5. The theme is Rocky Railway, Jesus’ Power Will Pull Us Through. Activities will include crafts, games, fun songs, skits, snacks, Bible stories and mission opportunities. WEST SAND LAKE – On Saturday June 5th, Hope Lutheran Church held an emergency food collection and bake sale to benefit two local food pantries.
At the end of the day a total of $366.00 was raised by the Bake Sale, and three SUV style vehicles were filled with donated food. The food and the money was divided equality between ConcersU Pantry in Rensselaer, and Doors of Hope in West Sand Lake.
Our thanks to the Advertiser for publishing repeated notices about this event, and to the many community members that brought bags of food, or purchased baked good.

Thrift Shop at Church of the Redeemer
RENSSELAER – Thrift Shop will be open on Saturday, June 19 from 9-2. Stop in to see what you might find for Dad on Father’s Day, June 20.

Hot Mess Crafters meets on Wednesday at 10 AM. We invite you to join our group as we learn and create homemade treasures.

Gilead’s Body & Soul Pantry June 24, 2021
CENTER BRUNSWICK – This month, June, we will continue our summer hours. Those hours will be from 3:00-5:00 PM on the last Thursday of the month. Summer hours will be from May thru August. The free community dinner will also disappear for the summer months and return in September.
For those individuals who have not visited the pantry in the past, why not? We are located at Gilead Lutheran Church. The church is located at the intersection of Routes 7 and 278 in Center Brunswick. If you have any questions please leave a message at 518-279-9270 and someone will return your call.

Vacation Bible School at First United Methodist Church
EAST GREENBUSH – 1 Gilligan Rd. East Greenbush. Is your child in the grades ranging from K–12? Would you like your child to be part of Vacation Bible School (VBS)? We will host VBS every Wednesday from 5:15 PM to 7:30 PM with dinner included. The program will run from June 23 through July 28. We will provide a program for different age groups, and you do not have to commit to each Wednesday, but please do sign up for the Wednesdays you’ll be here.
We are looking for meal sponsors for VBS this summer. We are looking for families or individuals that would like to either sponsor or make a dinner for the children, youth and volunteers. VBS is also looking for adult volunteers that might want to help with running the VBS program by either doing the art and crafts, games or story time.

Doors of Hope Food Pantry
WEST SAND LAKE – Are you in need of food? Rensselaer county residents are eligible to receive food assistance monthly from the Doors of Hope Food Pantry, located in the 43 Mall in West Sand Lake. Hours of food distribution are 9:00 A.M.- noon, Monday-Saturday. We offer a variety of food choices and assure confidentiality for all recipients.
