Upcoming events and activities:
Congregate lunches served on Tuesday and Thursday at 12 noon. Chair yoga is Monday and Friday at 10AM. Tuesday July 11th: Senior Meeting at 11AM. Tuesday lunch will be Prime Rib Cheeseburger. Birthday Celebration and Music by Brian Zapel @ 12:30. Wednesday July 12th: Legal Aid by Appt only. Thursday, July 13th lunch will be Tuna Salad Cold Plate w/lettuce followed by Senior Games. Tuesday July 18th: Eat Smart Demo @ 11AM and then Come join us as we hold: Music in the Park with Gone Gray @ 1PM.
Join us Saturday, July 22nd for the Grafton Summer Festival as our town celebrates summer. We will have vendors, ice cream, popcorn and more here at the center along with all the excitement happening outside. We still have a few tables available inside the center if interested.
Donny Elvis at Rensselaer Senior Center August 15th
Donny Elvis Pays tribute to the King Of Rock and Roll on the Eve of his death 46 years ago. We will also be celebrating Donny Elvis’s birthday with Cake and Ice Cream.

Speigle-Elder’s Seniors
1..The Brunswick Seigle-Elder’s are planning a ClamSteam on Wed. July 12th at 12p at the Brunswick Community Center. It’s a full steam with all of the fixings from McGreivey’s Rest.

East Side Senior July Meeting
East Side Meeting for July 11th, 1pm at the American Legion on Main Avenue, Wynantskill. Open to all. Mtg. starts with Pledge of Allegiance. Coffee & refreshments after mtg. & games are offered. Come join us & have some fun.
Hookers Needed
For the last 3 years you girls have broken records in crocheting Shawls, Lap robes, Hats, Scarfs, Booties and Quilts. Although it is early it seems the donations of items for our nursing homes has slowed. I have some yarn here and are always happy to receive donations of yarn for this project.
I realize this is a unique talent and am hoping there are some talented hookers looking for a volunteer experience. Your generosity of time and talent makes such a difference in the lives of our seniors in Nursing Homes.
Christmas can be a time of great happiness or Great Sadness. In 2022 we delivered 260 gift bags to local Nursing Homes, I can assure you you put smiles on many faces. Please join us this year in making another broken record of gifts to our seniors. Let them know they are not forgotten. Shawls are 20 x 55 and Lap robes are 44×34. Attention Closet Cleaners
Have you switched the seasons over in your closet? If you didn’t wear it last summer you probably won’t wear it this summer. Donate to our Boutique at the Rensselaer Area Senior Service Center. All proceeds go towards senior programs. We are now accepting quality Spring and Summer clothes as well as quality Fall and Summer clothes. If you gained weight over a very social summer, don’t pack it away. You deserve a shopping spree when you reach your ideal weight again. “And You Will”.

AARP Driver Safety Course
The Rensselaer County Senior Center of Troy is hosting an AARP Driver Safety course on July 14th from 9-3:30. Cost for members is $25, non-members $30.

Captain JP Luncheon Cruise
The Rensselaer County Senior Center of Troy is hosting a luncheon cruise on the Captain JP for all seniors in Rensselaer County. The cruise is on July 20th. We board at 11:30 and sail from noon to 3 p.m. Lunch will be roast beef, roasted chicken, vegetarian lasagna, vegetables, and salad. There will be a dessert table and entertainment will be provided by a DJ.

Lebanon Seniors
Lebanon Valley Seniors meet the 1st and 3rd fridays at the New Lebanon firehouse. New members are always welcome .
You do not need to be a resident of New Lebanon to join. Membership is just $10 a year. The backpack program, veterans project, community Christmas angels are just a few things we help support, so come help us support them when we do fundraisers. We have a few upcoming events a BQ, Lakeview lunch, show at Machaydn theater, fall CT train ride and lunch, octoberfest luncheon.

Sand Lake Senior Club
The Sand Lake Seniors have put together a 3 days/2nights trip to Niagara Falls, Canadian side for Oct 16th through the 18th.
A valid ENHANCED Driver’s License or a current PASSPORT is required. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Fallsview which is across the street from the Fallsview Casino (Bonus $35/pp).
Two breakfasts and 2 dinners are included one of which is at the Skylon Tower. Enjoy the 20 minute Hornblower Cruise of the Falls! There is a guided full day tour of historic Niagara on the Lake where you can lunch on your own followed by a wine tasting at a local vineyard. A ride on the Skywheel prior to departure for home as well as a Duty Free stop at the border.
