Sand Lake Seniors Club 2021
SAND LAKE – The SLS Club is a social club that meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Averill Park Sand Lake Firehouse on Eastern Union Turnpike. We have occasional outings for luncheons and trips and we seek to inspire new friendships and interests in our surrounding areas. Our dues are $15 per person, per year. We are still accepting memberships for 2021. Our May 13th meeting will be a Pot Luck luncheon. The club will provide the coffee and tea. Please bring a dish to share. We will still be practicing covid restrictions with temperature readings and sign in sheets upon arrival and mask wearing when not seated. We encourage everyone to get their vaccines if they are able.
Our first trip this year is to Lancaster Pennsylvania to see Queen Esther scheduled for October 11-13 for a cost of $365/PP/DBL members. If you are interested in going and have not made your reservation, please let Bette Bieg (518-663-8292) know as soon as possible. A $100 deposit is necessary.
Our second trip is to Virginia Beach and Colonial Williamsburg on Sept 12 – 16 for a cost of $569/PP/DBL members. Bette Bieg (518-663-8292) has several openings for this trip. A gov’t issued photo ID is required to tour the Norfalk Naval Base. Our male attendees will especially enjoy the Nauticus and USS Wisconsin tours as well as the base tour! And there’s the beach! A $100 deposit is also necessary.

SCHODACK – Edward C. Swartz Senior Center invites seniors to an evening of refreshments and music with the popular Gone Gray Band at the Schodack Town Park on Thursday, May 27th, from 4:30pm to 7:00 pm. Rain date is May 28. Please bring a chair and masks are required. It will be a great opportunity to socialize safely with our friends after a long winter. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Memorial Day Parade is On
RENSSELAER COUNTY – Attention Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center seniors. We will be marching in the parade on May 30th we would love to have your representation. The City of Rensselaer is very good to our seniors and this would be a good opportunity to say thank you. There will be an after parade party for the seniors that participate representing our Senior Center Call Gloria to register at 518-463-2166 from 9 am to 3pm Monday thru Friday “Lets Party”
Grab and Go Lunches Available
RENSSELAER – The Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center are offering nutritious meals Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Pickup is at 11:30. Please call the day before to order your lunch and enjoy a hot homemade meal 3 times a week must be 60 years old to participate in this great program. Suggested contribution is 3 Dollars per meal. POESTENKILL – Our weekly meetings are held every Tuesday at 1:00 in the afternoon at the Sullivan Jones Post in Poestenkill. All seniors are welcome. We have catered lunches, pizza, clam steams, fish fries and luncheons that are held at various restaurants and best of all bus trips to casinos, theaters and points of interest.
Informational talks on senior safety and health are given from time to time. Dues are $15.00 a year. Coffee and refreshments are served after the meeting followed by Bingo and cards. Come join the fun and a afternoon out. The hall is handicapped accessible with sufficient parking. Hope to see you there.
