Letters To The Editor 08.03.23

Aldi recently opened in North Greenbush directly across the road from Shop Rite. In June, the Rensselaer County Legislature issued a resolution urging Aldi to remain open in the City of Rensselaer. The resolution raised concerns about Rensselaer becoming a food desert. I don’t understand the strategic advantage of North Greenbush approving a grocery store across the road from another grocery store. When approving projects North Greenbush needs to consider the long-term effects of decisions for the Town as well as how our decisions may affect our neighbors or neighboring municipalities.
