Holidays on the Hudson – Sunday, 12/1, 3:30-4:30pm – Join us to celebrate the holidays with a special visit from Santa and light refreshments! Presented in cooperation with the Village of Castleton-on-Hudson.

After Dinner Book Club – The Locals by Jonathan Dee – Monday, 12/2, 7:00pm – Join us the first Monday of each month for a book discussion! Books available at front desk.

Pajama Storytime – Tuesday, 12/3, 6:00pm – Feel free to wear pajamas or bring a stuffed animal to this evening storytime! Ages birth-8.

Learn & Play Storytime – Thursday, 12/5, 10:30am – Children from birth-age 5 are invited to enjoy stories, rhymes, music, and movement while building their early literacy and motor skills!

Early Literacy Playtime – Friday, 12/6, 10:00-11:00am – Playing is learning! With a variety of age-appropriate toys and blocks provided, this playtime is designed for children ages birth to 5 to strengthen their early literacy skills while playing with caregivers & friends.

Bridge Club – Friday, 12/6, 10:30am – Come play bridge with us! Geared toward beginners and players who need a refresher.

Stephentown Historical Society Holiday Carry-In Dinner

The Stephentown Historical Society will hold its holiday carry-in dinner on Sunday, December 1, at 1:00 p.m. at the Stephentown Heritage Center, 4 Staples Road (off Garfield Road), Stephentown, New York. The choir of the Stephentown Federated Church will sing some seasonal songs and lead a sing-along. Officers and board members will be elected at the brief business meeting. Future historical society gatherings will be held at 2:00 p.m. on the first Sunday afternoon of each month.

For the dinner, bring a dish large enough to share: main course, side dish or dessert. Beverages and table service are provided. Instead of a gift exchange, a monetary collection will be taken to support the Stephentown Food Pantry. All meetings are free and open to the public. The building is handicapped accessible. The Heritage Center will be closed on Fridays and in December.

Omaha High Poker game

The West Sand Lake FD will hold a Deep Stack Omaha High Poker Tournament on Sat. November 30, 2019 at 1 pm

Doors open at 12 noon. All Walk-ins Welcome!

Free Refreshments and Lunch will be served. Please tell and bring your friends and relatives. We hope to see you at the final winners table!!! Sand Lake Historical Society – Community Dinner and Discussion of Christmas Past

December 10: Holiday Party. Members and guests are invited to bring a covered dish to share, a canned good or other nonperishable for Doors of Hope, and your memories of Christmas past; trustees provide desserts. The Book Nook at Transfiguration Parish on Hillview Drive in Speigletown is open from 9:00 am until noon on Saturday, December 7 and 21. Just in time for your holiday shopping! Books make a great gift and we have a wonderful selection of novels by your favorite authors; cookbooks, historical and biographical novels as well as romance, religious and self-help. And the price is right! Please stop by and see what we’re all about. The December half-priced authors are Preston & Child, JA Jance and Nora Roberts. There is also a great selection of Large Print books which are priced at 3/$1. They are the same great novels by your favorite authors–Just Easier To Read! Repair Cafe

What do you do with a broken lamp? Or a sweater with a hole? Toss it? No way! The next Repair Café in the Village of Castleton-on-Hudson will be Friday, December 13 from 4:30-7:30 PM during the inaugural Castleton-on-Hudson Farmers and Artisans Market Winterfest at the Castleton Fire Department, 11 Green Avenue. Then, we will skip January 2020, so the first Repair Café of the new year will be Saturday, February 8 from 11 AM-3 PM, downstairs at the Village Hall, 85 South Main Street. People visiting the Repair Café bring along their broken but beloved items. Volunteers try their best to make repairs, and it’s free of charge! Do you like to fix things and want to volunteer? Capital Dist. Chapter of the Embroider’s Guild of America

Do you enjoy needlework? Would you like to stitch with others that have similar interests? Whether you are a beginner or have experience, come join us. The NY Capital District Chapter of the Embroiderer’s Guild of America meets in various locations and at various times. The Day Group meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at Blooming Grove Reformed Church in Defreetsville. Evening meetings are offered in two locations: The Community Room at The Terrace at Beverwyck in Slingerlands from 7p-9p on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month and from 6:30p-9p in the Fellowship Hall of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Clifton Park on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.
