Glendora Vegetarian Club
I recently added a new aide to my team. Her name is Jonesy, and she also rides horses at 2 different locations. The first one is right in our quaint little town of Nassau at Chavin Equestrian Center on Loweree Rd. It is owned by Marsha Chavin. There Jonesy rides a 13 year old draft/TB cross named Simon. They’ve been working on dressage which is the art of classical horsemanship. You might have seen videos of the Spanish Lipizzaner stallions in Vienna. That is how dressage was started.
The second barn where Jonesy rides is in Hoosick Falls. The owner, Harry Diel, moved here from Germany 17 years ago to open Diel Dressage. Harry is a riding master who rode one of the Lipizzaners while he worked with his family in Germany. Jonesy enjoys watching Harry go through his day, and she trains with his wife Adria. They have boarders and prepare several horses for competition.
Glendora sends Jonesy off to ride the horses with carrots, apples and peppermints. She wants to know if the horses are happy. Jonesy always likes to leave them happier than she found them. Personally, Glendora would let all horses run free without any trappings.

Troop 522 Breakfast with Santa!
East Schodack – Santa is busy these days, but he is taking time to stop by St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in East Schodack for breakfast on Sat. Dec. 11 from 8:30-11 am. Come support BSA Scout Troop 522 via this fundraiser with delicious pancakes and sausage and meet Santa himself! Eat-in or take-out. $7 for adults, $4 for children 5-12, and free under 5.
Kiwanis Pasta Dinner Fundraiser Now Eat in or Take-out
SAND LAKE – The Sand Lake Kiwanis Club wants to invite all to participate in the next Pasta Dinner fundraiser on Saturday December 11th from 4PM to 7PM at the Sand Lake Veterans Hall on Rt. 43. Cost: $10 for adults, $5 for Kids (10yrs. & Younger), or $25 Special for a Family of 4. Meals will consist of pasta, meatballs, salad, bread, & dessert. Meals are now Eat-In while there is still a Drive-Up/Take-Out option. Pre Orders may be made starting at 2 PM (on the day of the event) by calling (518) 421-1339. Pasta Dinners will continue to be held every second Saturday of each month. All proceeds support Kiwanis community projects.

EAST GREENBUSH – Help Support your local Veterans! The Public is welcome! Come and have Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus! VFW Post 7338, East Greenbush, 100 Hayes Road. Sunday December 19, 2021, 9 am to 12 noon. Eat in or take-out. Breakfast includes Buttermilk Pancakes, French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausages, Home Fries, Corned Beef Hash, Toast, Coffee, Tea, Water and Assorted Juices. Join the WSL Fire Auxiliary for Breakfast with Santa
WEST SAND LAKE – Santa is coming to West Sand Lake! December 19, 2021 from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. Unfortunately we do not have enough folks to help run a full breakfast, but we have enlisted Santa’s help in delivering breakfast Sandwiches to cars. He is also willing to sit by the Christmas tree and have his picture taken with anyone that would like. Come visit with Santa and have an awesome breakfast sandwich! Breakfast Sandwiches – Your choice of Ham, Bacon, or Sausage with Egg and Cheese. $6.00 All three meats for $7.00. Hashbrown is included. We also have juice for $1.00.
Gilead’s Bods and Soul Pantry
CENTER BRUNSWICK – We are sorry, but we still cannot open up the fellowship hall for in house dinning, but we are still providing take out dinners for you. Our pantry hours are 3 to 6 pm.
Now let’s answer the big question. What’s for dinner? We had a couple of ideas but settled on beef stew, tossed salad, roll, and dessert. The date is Thursday, December 30th 3-6pm and the location is Gilead Lutheran at the intersection of Routes 7 & 278 in Center Brunswick.

BRUNSWICK – Jubilation Station, the Sunday School of Center Brunswick United Methodist Church, will hold a drive thru – take out only Chicken Bar B Q on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Meals includes 1/2 chicken, baked potato, vegetable, roll, drink and dessert. Cost is $13 for full dinner, $6 for 1/2 chicken only. Call Jill at 518 258-2164 for reservations.
