Glendora Vegetarian Club

The headquarters of the Glendora Vegetarian Club is in Nassau Village. We call it Happy House 3. Because of Glendora’s blindness and lameness, the owners of this apartment have demanded that Glendora have someone with her all the time or that she seek assisted living. Initially, Glendora was irritated by this patent discrimination – disability walking and disability eyesight – and wanted to flee the owners, so she and her network combed the area for either a new apartment or for a room. Since Glendora has stopped cooking, she decided that a room was enough. Then her friends took a stand that she should not leave Happy House 3, where she is 100% familiar since before she became blind, and then have to get used to a new place. Glendora decided that she loves Happy House 3, that she has been an ideal tenant for 8 years and that she did not want to leave the happiness here. She also decided to eschew negativism and that the best policy was to love the owners more than she ever loved them before.

Thus began a vigorous campaign of distributing flyers and advertising in newspapers and on electronic media. This is how she found new friend #1 to stay overnight with her Monday through Thursday and to do the work of Glendora Vegetarian Club, the TV shows and the vegan commercials on Channel 6 to help the animals. The ad on Craig’s List found her 16 people who wanted to work for her, so she complied with the owners’ ultimata. Indeed she overcomplied.

The owners called for a second meeting with Glendora and her network 30 days after the first meeting. Glendora will tell them that with more time and money she is confident that she can fulfill the rest of their demands.

Did we live up to our message? After all is said and done, the only thing that matters is how you treated others. Did we treat others right?
