VFW Pancake Breakfast on Father’s Day

Treat Dad to a Delicious Pancake Breakfast on his Special Day! 

VFW Post 7338, East Greenbush, 100 Hayes Road 

Sunday June 18, 2023, 9 am to 11 am. Eat in or take-out.

Breakfast includes Buttermilk Pancakes, French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausages, Home Fries, Corned Beef Hash, Toast, Coffee, Tea,  Water and Assorted Juices.

Adults – $12.00, Children 6 to 12 – $5.00, Children Under 6 – Free

We will have a drawing, for over $1000 worth of prizes! There are about 15 items in all and chance to win one of 5 prizes for $5. Of course, donations are always welcome and very much appreciated!

Stephentown Historical Society to host 41st Annual Strawberry Festival

Once again, Strawberry Shortcake will be the star at the 41st Annual Strawberry Festival on Sunday, June 25th, at Gardner’s Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe, 15879 NY Route 22, in Stephentown. This is a fund raiser for the Stephentown Historical Society and will run from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Fresh strawberries will be served on your choice of sponge cake or homemade biscuits with whipped cream, or add ice cream for “the works”! Homemade strawberry rhubarb pies will also be available for purchase – choose “a la mode” or take home a whole pie! .The Stephentown Strawberry Festival began in 1982 when the Historical Society was still in its infancy and preparing for the town’s 1984 bicentennial celebration. Over the years, as close as we can tell, volunteers from the society have prepared and served over 8100 servings of this summer favorite. We hope to see you there!

Veteran’s of Sand Lake Chicken Barbeque

The Veterans of Sand Lake in Averill Park will be holding our Chicken BBQ on Saturday, June 17th, 2023. 

Please call the Post at (518) 674-2309 to pre-order chicken halves only (no full dinners) from 8:00am the day of the BBQ. Price of the BBQ is $9.00. Enjoy the most succulent BBQ Chicken you will ever eat. Pick up your order between 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The next Chicken BBQ will be held on August 19th, 2023.

Father’s Day Breakfast Buffet

The Latham-Colonie Columbiettes are hosting a Father’s Day Breakfast Buffet on Sunday, June 18th, 2023 from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon at the Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus Council, 328 Troy-Schenectady Road, Latham, N.Y. 12110.

Menu includes; Scrambled Eggs, an Omelet Station, Home Fries, Corned Beef Hash, Bacon and Sausage, Pancakes and French Toast served w/Warm syrup, A Variety of Cereals and Juices, Bananas and Hot Tea, Coffee or Hot Chocolate.

VFW Post 7338, East Greenbush, located at 100 Hayes Road, is available now to handle all of your family gatherings/activities, this Spring and Summer season, whether inside or outside! 

We can be your 1st choice for Weddings, Showers, Anniversaries, Parties, High School Graduations, Club Meetings, get-togethers for families and friends or a quiet place to have a Celebration of Life of a loved one that passed. We have a seating capacity for 125 people! We also have an Outdoor Pavilion which can accommodate any size party or gathering, along with a large outside Barbeque Pit! We offer reasonable rates and appreciate your business! As everyone knows we offer a Delicious Pancake Breakfast, usually on the 3rd Sunday of every month! (Please note that Sunday, June 18 will be our last Pancake Breakfast for the summer; we will resume in September!)

Chicken BBQ at Center Brunswick Fire Company

The Volunteer Fire Company of Center Brunswick, Inc. is hosting a Chicken BBQ on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 4:00pm–6:00pm. Dinner includes half chicken, macaroni salad, corn on the cob, roll and a drink. Cost is $15.00/dinner.

Come in person Monday nights to the firehouse between 7:00-8:00pm or all members have tickets to sell. Tickets also available through our Facebook page. First Reformed Church Community Dinners

The First Reformed Church (corner of NYS Route 66 and Church St in Wynantskill) will be providing free pasta dinners once again. 

The dinners will be available every Wednesday evening from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm and will be drive-thru take out only event No reservations are needed.

Glendora Vegan Club

Plant-based, veganism, continues its’ triumph over animal cruelty,the ruining of body and soul and cancer. With the latest breakthrough: dispensing vegan meat by a food pantry. Abundantly we have seen sausages, bacon, and hamburger being loaded into bags for the needy, glendora purchased $94 worth of vegan Swiss steak, Tender rounds, hot dogs, hamburger, steaklettes, choplettes, et al. To the food pantry, and now they have a shelf of food marked  “vegan.” Currently Glendora is campaigning to convert Meals on wheels to vegan options.progress is steady.

–Years ago Glendora was mailing her tv show on VHS tape to 78 tv stations Boston to San Diego, since it was such a heavy load, she asked a man to help her it was in the middle of January on a bitter cold day, and this man was not wearing a coat nor a jacket, and his sleeves were rolled up, Glendora commented on this, and the man said,” I believe in the second amendment: I have the right to bare arms.”
