Veterans Breakfast Moving

THE VETERANS AND FRIENDS BREAKFAST CLUB has wonderful news! We have outgrown our home at our Thursday morning gathering place, The Schodack Diner. We all look forward to our new home at Melvin Roads American Legion Hall, 200 Columbia Turnpike, E. Greenbush, every Thursday from 8 to 11 AM, where we have lots of room to grow!

The stories and laughs will continue, and new friendships will surely develop! The coffee will flow, the breakfast menu will satisfy even the most discriminating gourmet, created by “Chef Al.” We are a short and easy trip from Albany too! If you have not been to our Thursday morning gathering yet, we welcome you as a friend we have yet to meet. There is always a pleasant surprise for our first timers and that includes wives, children, grandchildren, and friends. I always say, “I’m giving you an order! Just show up and you will return!” Our new home begins on Thursday, March 31 and continues every Thursday morning. “Come on down! That’s an ORDER!”

Glendora Vegeterian Club

Honest Weight’s Coop Scoop dedicated a recent issue to veganism and the promotion of Veganuary. Veganuary is a name for going vegan, or not eating or using animal products, for the month of January. Animal eating is not sustainable for the planet. The climate experts are right. If things continue as they are going, the animal industry will be responsible for far too much of the carbon emissions. We could certainly see the truth of this by looking at weather conditions this past winter. The January thaw was 3 weeks late. That is how severely climate change is right before our eyes. We had near zero degree temperatures day after day, relentlessly. We do not need a more frightening harbinger of climate change than this past winter.

The January issue also included a review of a new vegan cookbook: The Ayurvedic Vegan Kitchen – Finding Harmony Through Food by Talya Lutzker. Try its recipes, and you will not want to dine non vegan again.
