God is Good!
BIBLE POINT: Bible points for each day walk through the story of God’s chosen people, the Israelites, to remind your VBS kids again and again that God is good! On Day 1, your kids will meet “Mack,” the white rhinoceros who, through the story of the Israelites enslaved in Egypt, will help kids remember that God is good even when life is unfair. Day 2 introduces “Hooper,” an African hoopoe bird to share about the plagues and reinforce that, when life is scary, God is good. Day 3 brings the story of the Israelites in the wilderness told by “Marge” the cape buffalo, reminding kids of God’s goodness when life goes through changes. “Zion” the Lion helps kids see that even when they’re sad, God’s goodness is still. Day 4 is connected to the Gospel message of Jesus death and resurrection. Finally, on Day 5, “Savanna” the giraffe stands tall with the message that when life is good, God is good, just as he was when the Israelites built a memorial in the desert.
“At Roar, kids explore God’s goodness and celebrate a ferocious faith that powers them through this wildlife.”

Vacation bible school at Hope Lutheran – Who is my Neighbor?
July 29 – Aug 2 from 8:30am – 1:00pm
Believing that service to one’s neighbor should be a priority for every person of faith, the theme of this summer’s VBS at Hope will help children to understand that we may serve and benefit others in everything we do! The parable of the Good Samaritan will set the theme and help us determine who our “neighbor” really is! We’ll visit neighbors in six parts of the globe over our five days together. There will be singing, crafts, games, a simulation station where children will have hands-on experiences, skits, storytime, and snacks! Hope Lutheran is located at the corner of Blooming Grove Drive and Winter St in Defreestville. Call Marilyn at 518-326-5276 and leave your name and email for a registration form. Hope Lutheran Church Sunday School
470 Winter Street Ext., N. Greenbush
Our 2018-19 school year ended with a field trip to
the Ronald McDonald House. During this Sunday School year, several children have been praying for family members or friends of family members facing serious illnesses. Our Mission Project and field trip to Ronald McDonald House was a result of these prayer concerns. After touring the facility, now grown to 29 rooms, the children were moved to do even more for this great charity in our area. If you are also moved to help families whose loved ones are facing critical hospital stays, you may send a donation to Ronald McDonald House, 139 S. Lake Ave., Albany, NY 12208. Thank you and many Blessings to you!
