When did it start? February 2013 at the Nassau Free Library with 17 people. What has it accomplished? Awareness that everytime you hand over money at checkout for animal products you are causing horrid cruelty to sweet little creatures who would love to be your friend, even as your little dog and cat want to be friends. We spent $56,000.00 for air time channel 6, 6:30 pm news to plead that people go vegan. We have spent over $12,000.00 treating folks to vegan dinners.

West Sand Lake Fire Company BBQ
WEST SAND LAKE – The West Sand Lake Fire Company will be hosting another Iron Works BBQ on Thursday, July 29th at the Fire Hall. Dinners will be 1/2 Chicken for $13 or Half Rack of Ribs for $14. Each dinner will come with baked potato and cole slaw. Reservations are preferred and can be made by calling (518)674-5757 ext 300. There will be a limited number of dinners available for drive up. Dinners can be picked up at the fire house (3695 Rt 43) from 4-6pm on the 29th.
Chicken BBQ to Benefit Nassau Community Connections
NASSAU – Nassau Community Connections, Inc., is holding its 3rd annual Chicken BBQ take-out at Chandler Young Veteran’s Association, 7 Lyons Lake Road on Sunday, August 1st, 2021. Take-out will be between 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. Dinners will consist of 1/2 Chicken, Baked Potato, Coleslaw, Roll and Dessert. All proceeds will be used to support the opening of the Community/Senior Center in Nassau, specifically we are raising money for a wheelchair accessible ramp. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling (518) 495 1229.
The Reformed Dutch Church of Schodack at Muitzeskill Chicken BBQ
SCHODACK LANDING – The Reformed Dutch Church of Schodack at Muitzeskill is pleased to announce that we will be having our annual chicken barbecue on Saturday, August 14th! We will not be having the mini-market.
The meal will be take out only, (drive through pick up) from 4PM to 6 PM. The meal will include chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad, cabbage salad, and watermelon. Adults: $14.00, children 6-12: $7. Reserve your meal by calling 732-7345. If no answer, leave a message including name, number and that you are calling regarding the bbq. You will be called back.
