In the Fall 2020 issue of American Vegan, Dale Lugenbehl addresses the likelihood that there will be more pandemics in our future. He cites John McDougall, MD, who says that the root of deadly viral diseases lies in current farm practices: the keeping of “billions of animals in tight, tight, tight farm yards passing the viruses around.” The warming climate contributes to the strength of the viruses which can be passed on to humans through the meat of the animals. These underlying conditions that create pandemics can be addressed by drastically reforming the production of meat, milk and eggs. An individual may contribute to the health of the planet by adopting a plant based diet.

American Legion Post 1489 Fundraiser Dinner
