Glendora Vegetarian Club

Folks, go to the encyclopedia and read about the common cold. It sounds just like coronavirus. Both start the same way. Both cause the same discomforts. In the case of the common cold, your body says to you, “You have a germ inside of you, and it could kill you. I am going to produce a viscous fluid that will ensnare that germ, and you will blow or cough it out until it is gone.” Apparently Covid-19 is much more of a challenge. However with both of them, a strong immune system can conquer. Strengthen your immune system with plant based foods. Keep washing your hands and face with hot water and soap. The virus could get rid of us before we get rid of it, so stick to the precautions.

Jokes

1. Two little girls and their mother were walking down the sidewalk. One little girl asked why you have to be quiet when you walk by a church. The other little girl said, “Because people inside are sleeping.”

2. The husband said he had taken an aptitude test, and he flunked it. His wife said it’s a good thing you own the company.

3. The owner of a shop heard his employee arguing with a customer. The owner said, “It is a strict policy that the customer is always right. Do yo understand that?”

“Yes sir.”

“What were you arguing about?”

The clerk replied, “He said you were an idiot.”

Gilead’s Body & Soul Pantry

CENTER BRUNSWICK – As usual summer is flying, either that or it is just because I am getting older. We are still in hopes we can continue to let you into the building, a few people at a time. Unfortunately, we will still require you to wear masks.

We are still assessing what our dinners are going to be for the future. Until we can put this virus behind us, I am afraid we will still be looking at take-outs. We are up to the challenge to do this if you would like us to continue the take-outs.

First time you heard about us? Where have you been? We are located, in the Fellowship Hall of Gilead Lutheran Church, at the intersection of routes 7 & 278 in Center Brunswick.

We look forward to seeing you on the 27th for your grocery pick-up.

Gilead’s Annual Chicken Barbeque

CENTER BRUNSWICK – Circle Saturday, September 12th on your calendar! A delicious meal begins at 4:00 PM and end at 6:00 PM. This fabulous feast takes place at the Gilead Lutheran Church located at the intersection of Routes 7 & 278 in Center Brunswick. For as little as $10.00 you get half a barbequed chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, cole slaw, brownies and cookies for dessert. Please call Jen at 518-248-1295 for reservations as this sells out fast. Due to Covid 19 restrictions and regulations, this year our dinner can be take-out only. Gilead is again handicapped accessible.

Please don’t plan on “winging” it. You want to get a “leg” up on everyone else. It is also a good way to keep “abreast” of what is happening at Gilead. Don’t be left without a meal. Call now for your dinner!
