Free Relationships Event ~ How To Avoid Being A Statistic

We have to stop asking of marriage & relationships what God never intended them be – perfect. Instead, we need to learn to appreciate what they were intended to provide – partnership, fulfillment, and purpose. We were made for relationships, created as social beings. That was our design. God’s plan was for a man and a women to become one. While this can be exciting, it brings challenges! Join us at Connecting Point Church for this FREE Relationships Event on Friday, October 4th from 7:00-8:30pm and Saturday, October, 5th from 9:00am-2:30pm where there will be several breakout sessions, relationship building activities, and a time for lunch. We will provide you with some tested techniques that will dig deep to address your core motives and desires for your relationship. There are no shortcuts or secrets…however, applying these skills and/or working through the hurt is the birthplace for a newfound closeness. In the end, it will have been worth the effort! Register online at www.connectingpoint.church

The 6th Annual “Steps2Cure NF” Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the South Pavilion in The Crossings of Colonie. Registration begins at 11AM, and the walk/run kicks off at noon!

Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form on the nerves anywhere in or on the body at any time. NF affects three times as many people as cystic fibrosis and muscular dystrophy combined, yet it is not commonly known. There is NO means of prevention, NO effective treatment, and NO CURE. Scientists have determined that NF research has broad implications for millions of Americans who are affected by hearing loss, visual impairment, cancer, brain tumors, seizures and learning disabilities — all of which can be symptomatic of NF.

Board members from Neurofibromatosis Northeast, Inc. and medical professionals from Albany Medical Center will be available at the event to answer questions and give insight into the illness and any progress being made by research toward a cure.

Please come out and help us keep hope alive for the 1.5 million people faced with Neurofibromatosis! Proceeds from this event will support Neurofibromatosis Northeast, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. To preregister or make a donation, go online to https://NFNortheast.org/events/event/nf-walk-loudonville-ny. For more information, call Brian (518) 469-7896 or Susan (518) 272-5693.

Estate Planning Workshop for Landowners

Saturday, October 5, 2019, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Education Center, Blue Skies Travel (New Location!)

2 Pittsfield Avenue, East Greenbush, NY

Protecting Your Legacy: Planning for the Future of Your Land

Few challenges faced by landowners are more important than the issue of passing land on to the next generation. Many landowners want to conserve their woods but don’t know about conservation options and how to involve family members in future plans. The workshop will help landowners by connecting them with legacy planning resources to help them consider the future of their forests. Experts from Cornell University will share resources to help landowners make decisions regarding the future of their property. An attorney will present on the legal aspects of estate planning tools, and a panel of landowners will discuss their conservation challenges and decisions.

Professionals who work with landowners in areas relating to estate planning are also encouraged to attend this event.

Registration for this workshop is required. $25 per person covers handouts, resource materials, light morning refreshments and lunch.

Steps2Cure NF

Premier At The Arts Center Of Troy

Setting: An apartment building in New York City in 1985 before iPads, Cell Phones and Netflix. A blizzard hits NYC taking out all forms of wired communication. No TV, no radio, no telephone and no- *gasp* – cable that you just paid $15.95 for! Stranded by the blizzard and with little to do to amuse themselves, Frank and Marjorie Belenchine, a married couple, resort to eavesdropping on the couple downstairs through the register vent in the floor of their NYC walk-up apartment building. Hilarity, thieving and murder ensue in this madcap two-act comedic farce written by Michael C. Mensching and directed by Michael McDermott, as the action progresses and builds floor-to-floor in the overlapping flats of the apartment building. As each higher floor hears more and more of the jumbled conversations all types of antics breaks lose with typical 80’s icons toga parties, Bill Cosby, big hair and Bruce Jenner all having a part in making you laugh. The Register had a debut as a one-act play during the Playwright’s Showcase at Albany Civic Theater in 2018, this fully staged local premiere will be produced by Troy Civic Theater, October 4, 5, 6 and 10, 11, 12, 13 at the Arts Center of the Capital District under the direction and design of Michael McDermott.
