2021 Spring Baseball Season Registration at Brunswick Youth Baseball
BRUNSWICK – Registration is open for the 2021 spring baseball season at Brunswick Youth Baseball! This season’s registration fees have been discounted for our baseball families in consideration of the ongoing pandemic and challenges facing our community.

February Events at Dyken Pond EEC
Grafton –The Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center is offering the following outdoor events for adults and older teens in February. Preregistration is required for all events at (518) 658-2055 or dykenpond@nullgmail.com.
Tuesday Treks: Every Tuesday: 12:30 – 2:30pm – Join Leonard Tremblay on a 2-3 mile hike at a moderate pace exploring the wilds of Dyken Pond Center. Each week we’ll discover new ground and nature. Hikes will be cancelled in bad weather. Preregistration required. Free.
Mindful Nature Walk: Sunday, February 21: 1 – 3pm – Join Sandy Wilson from Spirit of Dragonflies, LLC to celebrate the wonders of the outdoors! For those of you who have never experienced a Mindful Nature Walk we will be experiencing the benefits of “Forest Bathing.” Don’t worry, Forest Bathing requires no shower cap and involves no actual bathing in water. Called Shinrin-Yoku where it originated in Japan, it is the wellness practice of being in the present moment and opening up our senses to fully take in the forest atmosphere. This type of slow walking ‘sauntering’, deep breathing, present-centered awareness, and observation in nature is shown to reduce stress, boost our moods, and strengthen our immune systems. Preregistration required. Donations accepted if you are able. Suggested donation: $10, but truly any amount is welcome.
Wildlife Tracking with Dan Yacobellis: Sunday, February 28: 9am – 12pm – Follow the tracks and trails of our furry and feathered forest inhabitants. Learn how to identify the tracks of animals and interpret the story of what they were doing when they left those tracks. Cost $20. Preregistration required.

Youth and Family Programs at Dyken Pond EEC
Grafton –Being outside can be a safe way to socialize, exercise and hold off the winter blues. All of our youth programs are now being offered free of charge to encourage healthy outdoor activity. If you’ve never tried snowshoeing or a winter walk, one of our family programs may be a great chance to do so. If you cannot make it to one of our programs we have snowshoes available to rent every day with advance notice.
The Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center is offering the following events in February.
Snowshoe Rentals: Available by reservation every day – Youth rentals are FREE with an accompanying adult. Adult rentals are $5. Call or email to ensure availability.
The Friday Family Forest Foray: Every Friday, February – March: 10am -11:30am – Every Friday this winter from 10am -12pm we will be exploring a different area of the park attempting to cover every inch of the park’s many trails while searching the woods for seasonal wonders. These programs end around lunch time so consider packing a picnic lunch to enjoy following the program! Preregistration required for each weekly session. Reserve snowshoes if needed for $5. All ages welcome but must be able to hike 2 miles.
Deer Day: Wednesday, February 24: 1pm – 2:30pm – We will set out to find and follow deer tracks learning about their seasonal diet and behavior. We will visit sites used by deer throughout the seasons for different purposes before placing a trail camera to attempt to capture some of their antics (and maybe antlers..). Snowshoe rentals available by reservation for $5. Free. Donations welcome.

During the pandemic, we are waiving most program fees, but donations of any amount are always welcome if you are able. Most of our programs are weather and snow dependent.
