Sycaway Seniors

BRUNSWICK – The Sycaway Seniors will have only one meeting in December, that will be their Christmas party with reservations only. Members and visitors are welcome Monday, January 3, 2022 and Monday January 17, 2022. Music Entertainment, Bingo,  50/50 and refreshments.  We will have a “Meet and Greet” each meeting. We have 36 members, men and women. Call Nancy McCloskey 518-279-0847 for info. Meetings first and third Mondays of the month. Keyes Lane, turn at Howie’s Jewelry on Hoosick St., Brunswick Recreation Center. Handicap entrance and restrooms available.

East Side Seniors

TROY – Our next meeting will be on December 14th, at Paolo Lombardi’s, at 1:00 P.M. Call Claire at 518-274-1334, if you have not made a reservation by Dec.12, Menu choices are Chicken Parm.,Eggplant, or Salmon. Starting with January 11, 2022, Our regular meetings will start at 1:00, preceeded by the Pledge and a moment of silence. We will have more info on the Wildwood trip, and other upcoming events.Just a reminder DUES are to be paid in January. New members are always welcome.

Grafton Senior Center News

CROPSEYVILLE – Rensselaer County’s Everett Wagar Senior Center, 2 Roxborough Rd, Cropseyville, will be open with limited hours. State and County Guidelines will be posted and must be followed at all times. The center is now open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 3:00 with congregate lunch and activities. Van transportation to and from the center will be available on limited days. Please call to be placed on the list.

On Dec 14th there will be Yoga at 10:00, Eat Smart healthy food demonstration with Jillian, Cornell Cooperative Extension at 11:15, lunch at noon (Turkey Ala King with rice) and the December Birthday Celebration to follow with cupcakes and a fun game of trivia. Dec 16th there will be a Cookie Decorating Contest following lunch (Cold Ham Plate) and a Holiday Tea Party at 1:00. The center is also open on Monday and Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 for our 10:00 Yoga class. Dec 15th the Quilt Group meets at 9:30 and the Crochet/Knitting Group meets at 10:00. Come check it out. Looking ahead music entertainment by Bob Treffeletti on Dec 21st for a Christmas party. Come and dance and sing-a-long.

There is a $3 suggested donation for all lunches at the center. All other activities are free to residents 60 and over. Please call the center at (518) 279-3413 to be added to the lunch list.

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at The Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center

RENSSELAER – Use your Imagination and create your very own Christmas sweater or stop in at our boutique and pick a Christmas sweater out of the many we have here. On Tuesday, December 14th you can come and enjoy the music of Paul Slusar The one man band and munch out on the after lunch sugar cookies and egg nog. After your munchies dance it off to some great music good company and delicious food. Good News, Grab and Go Lunch is Available Five Days a Week

RENSSELAER – The Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center are offering nutritious meals Monday through Friday. Pickup is at 11:30. Please call the day before to order your lunch and enjoy a hot homemade meal 5 times a week. Must be 60 years old to participate in this great program. Suggested contribution is $3 per meal. No one is denied a meal due to inability to contribute. Call 518-463-2166 for more information. Located on East and Herrick Streets. 

You Don’t Have to Dine Alone

RENSSELAER – The Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center is open 5 days a week for lunch. We have wonderful people at the center and we have room for more. So please join us for lunch. The food is great and the atmosphere is cheerful and the company is enjoyable call for reservations. We are located in Rensselaer on East and Herrick streets. Poestenkill Seniors

POESTENKILL – Our weekly meetings are held every Tuesday at 1:00 in the afternoon at the Sullivan Jones Post in Poestenkill. All seniors are welcome. We have catered lunches, pizza, clam steams, fish fries and luncheons that are held at various restaurants and best of all bus trips to casinos, theaters and points of interest.

Informational talks on senior safety and health are given from time to time. Dues are $15.00 a year. Coffee and refreshments are served after the meeting followed by Bingo and cards. Come join the fun and a afternoon out. The hall is handicapped accessible with sufficient parking. Hope to see you there.

Attention Closet Cleaners

RENSSELAER – We, at the Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center, thank you so much for responding to our request for spring and summer gently used clothing we are still accepting donations and are still in need of shoes pocketbooks and costume jewelry. For those of you who have thought of cleaning your closets but haven’t gotten around to it you still have time. we are also accepting fall and winter clothing as well.
