Grafton Senior Center Weekly News

CROPSEYVILLE -Rensselaer County’s Everett Wagar Senior Center, 2 Roxborough Rd, Cropseyville, will be open with limited hours. State and County Guidelines will be posted and must be followed at all times. The center is now open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 3:00 with congregate lunch and activities. Van transportation to and from the center will be available on limited days. Please call to be placed on the list.

On Nov 30th there will be Yoga at 10, and lunch at noon with Scratch off BINGO to follow. Dec 2nd at 10:30 we will decorate the Christmas tree and the senior center. Following lunch at noon we will have a Christmas Caroling sing-a-long and an opportunity for karaoke. All residents 60 and over are encouraged to come and join the activities to kick off the Holiday season.

The senior center is open Monday and Friday 9:30 to 11:00 only for the 10:00 Yoga class. Looking ahead, Dec 7th the Eastern Tier Seniors will meet at 11:15. Plan to come and share in planning events and activities for 2021. Please call the center at (518) 279-3413 to be added to the lunch list.

Sycaway Seniors

BRUNSWICK – On Monday, December 6, 2021 at noon we will have our “Christmas Picnic” catered by Mary Jo, owner of Frear Park Pub – plus entertainment by Donnie “Elvis” Romaine personally singing all Elvis Presley songs of the 50’s, for members to sing and dance along with for fun and happy memories. Grafton’s Eastern Tier Seniors to Meet

CROPSEYVILLE – The Eastern Tier (Grafton) Seniors will meet on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Everett Wagar Senior Center at 11:15 am to plan events for the upcoming year. Membership is open to all county residents 60 years and over. There will be an election of officers for the 2021 year. Come to the meeting to share your thoughts and ideas. Christmas Gospel Concert With Donny Elvis Tuesday December 7th

RENSSELAER – Donny Elvis the areas number one Elvis Tribute Artist will explore the spiritual core of Elvis. Enjoy an afternoon of gospel music, great stories and some Christmas tunes as well. Donny’s shows are always memorable so please make your reservation early we don’t want you to miss this wonderful day. Lunch consists of Chicken Parmesan with pasta, Italian blend vegetables and special desert. Must dine with us to enjoy the show. Call (518) 463-2166 for reservations. Good News, Grab and Go Lunch is Available Five Days a Week

RENSSELAER – The Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center are offering nutritious meals Monday through Friday. Pickup is at 11:30. Please call the day before to order your lunch and enjoy a hot homemade meal 5 times a week. Must be 60 years old to participate in this great program. Suggested contribution is $3 per meal. No one is denied a meal due to inability to contribute. Call 518-463-2166 for more information. Located on East and Herrick Streets. 

You Don’t Have to Dine Alone

RENSSELAER – The Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center is open 5 days a week for lunch. We have wonderful people at the center and we have room for more. So please join us for lunch. The food is great and the atmosphere is cheerful and the company is enjoyable call for reservations. We are located in Rensselaer on East and Herrick streets. Poestenkill Seniors

POESTENKILL – Our weekly meetings are held every Tuesday at 1:00 in the afternoon at the Sullivan Jones Post in Poestenkill. All seniors are welcome. We have catered lunches, pizza, clam steams, fish fries and luncheons that are held at various restaurants and best of all bus trips to casinos, theaters and points of interest.

Informational talks on senior safety and health are given from time to time. Dues are $15.00 a year. Coffee and refreshments are served after the meeting followed by Bingo and cards. Come join the fun and a afternoon out. The hall is handicapped accessible with sufficient parking. Hope to see you there.

RENSSELAER – We, at the Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center, thank you so much for responding to our request for spring and summer gently used clothing we are still accepting donations and are still in need of shoes pocketbooks and costume jewelry. For those of you who have thought of cleaning your closets but haven’t gotten around to it you still have time. we are also accepting fall and winter clothing as well.
