Back by Popular Demand Rockin’ Rob at the Rensselaer Senior Center

RENSSELAER – Thursday ,November 18th noon lunch celebrating Thanksgiving with turkey and all the fixins. There will be no nap with Rockin’ Rob in the house. Dance off the pumpkin pie with music and laughter. You will leave at the end of the day with a smile on your face and fond memories. Don’t sit home alone come rock with us at the Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center. Reservations needed call early. Grafton Senior Center News

CROPSEYVILLE – Rensselaer County’s Everett Wagar Senior Center, 2 Roxborough Rd, Cropseyville, will be open with limited hours. State and County Guidelines will be posted and must be followed at all times. The center is now open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 3:00 with congregate lunch and activities. Van transportation to and from the center will be available on limited days. Please call to be placed on the list.

On Nov 16th there will be a November Birthday celebration with a fun game of trivia to follow. Lunch will be chicken Pattie w BBQ sauce, sweet potatoes and green beans. Nov 18th a Turkey dinner (mashed potato, broccoli and pumpkin pie) will be served at the center. We will have SNACK TIME Bingo following lunch. All county residents should plan to attend. On Nov 23rd there will be an Eat Smart presentation at 11:15, and then following lunch there will be live music entertainment with country singer John Hill.

The center is open Monday and Fridays from 9:30 to 11:00 am for Chair Yoga starting at 10:00. All are welcome to this low impact exercise class. On Tuesdays there is a slightly more advanced Yoga class at 10:00. On Nov 17th the Knitting and Crochet Group will meet at 9:30 and the Quilting Group will meet at 10:00. Elvis to visist Hoosick Falls Senior Center

HOOSICK FALLS – The Hoosick Falls Senior Center, 69 Church Street, will hold a special event at the center on Friday, Nov 19th. We have invited Donny ‘ELVIS’ to come and share some of his favorite songs with us. All county residents 60 and over are invited to come take this walk down memory lane. We ask that all attend lunch at a suggested donation of $3. The meal will be a turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. You must call to sign up for this event.

State and County Guidelines will be posted and must be followed at all times for the safety of our seniors. Please call the Center to sign up at 518-686-7561.

Sand Lake Seniors Club 2022

SAND LAKE – The 2022 officers for the Sand Lake Seniors have been elected and will assume office on January 1st, 2022. The new officers are: President – Stephanie Weiss. Vice-Presidents – Pat Lane and Anna Church. Secretaries – Gina Provenzano and Theresa Schmid. Treasurer – Jean Hayes. Chaplain – Candy Budesheim. Chairman for Trips – Barbara Chesnut. Chairman for Luncheons – Rosemary Stahlman. Chairman for Hospitality – Kathy Schreiner-Smith. All three Chairman have assistants! We look forward to a very busy 2022 with new ideas and new members. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at the Averill Park/Sand Lake Firehouse on Eastern Turnpike in Averill Park at noon.

Sycaway Seniors

BRUNSWICK – On Monday, December 6, 2021 at noon we will have our “Christmas Picnic” catered by Mary Jo, owner of Frear Park Pub – plus entertainment by Donnie “Elvis” Romaine personally singing all Elvis Presley songs of the 50’s, for members to sing and dance along with for fun and happy memories. Good News, Grab and Go Lunch is Available Five Days a Week

RENSSELAER – The Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center are offering nutritious meals Monday through Friday. Pickup is at 11:30. Please call the day before to order your lunch and enjoy a hot homemade meal 5 times a week. Must be 60 years old to participate in this great program. Suggested contribution is $3 per meal. You Don’t Have to Dine Alone

RENSSELAER – The Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center is open 5 days a week for lunch. We have wonderful people at the center and we have room for more. So please join us for lunch. The food is great and the atmosphere is cheerful and the company is enjoyable call for reservations. We are located in Rensselaer on East and Herrick streets. Poestenkill Seniors

POESTENKILL – Our weekly meetings are held every Tuesday at 1:00 in the afternoon at the Sullivan Jones Post in Poestenkill. All seniors are welcome. We have catered lunches, pizza, clam steams, fish fries and luncheons that are held at various restaurants and best of all bus trips to casinos, theaters and points of interest.

Informational talks on senior safety and health are given from time to time. Dues are $15.00 a year. Coffee and refreshments are served after the meeting followed by Bingo and cards. Come join the fun and a afternoon out. The hall is handicapped accessible with sufficient parking. Hope to see you there.

RENSSELAER – We, at the Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center, thank you so much for responding to our request for spring and summer gently used clothing we are still accepting donations and are still in need of shoes pocketbooks and costume jewelry. For those of you who have thought of cleaning your closets but haven’t gotten around to it you still have time. we are also accepting fall and winter clothing as well.
