Sand Lake Seniors Club
The Sand Lake Seniors Club meets at noon on the second Thursday of each month at Averill Park-Sand Lake Firehouse on Eastern Union Turnpike. Our dues are $15 per person.
We have day trips scheduled for Lake George (6/29), Neil Diamond Show (7/28), and Kenny Rogers Tribute Show (8/9). For detail information please contact Barbara Chesnut at 518-674-0005. Our overnight trips are Ocean City, Maryland (9/12-15), which is full, but folks can sign up on a “waiting list” due to possible cancellations. Our Sand Lake Seniors Annual Picnic is on Thursday, August 18th from noon until four at the VFW Post Pavilion in Poestenkill, NY. This event is being catered by Guiliano’s Catering. Members, please contact Kathy Schreiner-Smith at 518-674-8230 to sign up. Checks for $20.00 are payable to Sand Lake Seniors with “picnic” in the memo.
This month we had a guest speaker, Peter St. Germain from Brunswick Physical Therapy, PLLC. He gave a presentation about back pain. He gave us sheets demonstrating exercises for people experiencing pain while sitting and standing for long periods of time. He addressed these common causes of pain: spinal stenosis, disc bulge, and degenerative disc. He talked about treatments, the “tools” to fix these problems. Following his presentation, Mr. St. Germain was available to address individual concerns.

Lunch With Our Mayor
The Rensselaer County Senior Center is Proud to announce our mayor The Honorable Mike Stammel will be joining us monthly at 11:30 for lunch and conversation.
The Mayor frequents our Senior Center often and when we requested this opportunity he was more than happy to oblige. The City of Rensselaer is very good to our seniors. We look forward to this wonderful opportunity. Mark your calendar for the first Tuesday of every month starting July 5th. Looking forward to seeing you.

East Side Seniors
Our next meeting will be on July 12,2022, at the American Legion Post in Wynantskill. We hope to get more active seniors who enjoy playing BOCCI, Bingo, and games of choice. New officers are needed as well as others to help us to get re-started. The Bocci ,plans to start on Sept. 12, 9:30 at the ICC. We will have dessert at the meeting. Hope to see you.
Rensselaer County Senior Center Corner Boutique
We would like to thank all of you wonderful people that make our boutique so beautiful with your gently used quality clothes. We are always in need of donations of clothes, pocketbooks, shoes and costume jewelry. To all you who gained weight during Covid 19 and just lost it! You deserve a new wardrobe. Donations can be made from 9am to 12pm and 12:30 to 2:30pm. Call us from outside if you need help. Again thank you so much for supporting activities at our Center. Troy Senior Center’s Captain JP Luncheon Cruise
Troy Senior Center is hosting a cruise on the Captain JP, July 14, 2022. We will board the boat at 11:30 and sail from Noon till 3:00 p.m. A buffet lunch of prime rib, chicken cordon blue, fish and vegetable lasagna will be served. Entertainment will be provided by a DJ. Join us for an afternoon of fun, good food and awesome company as we sail the Hudson. Cost is $40 per person. Call 518-270-5348 to reserve your ticket.
Spring Cleaning Donations Welcomed at Senior Center
Are you doing your Spring cleaning? Rensselaer County’s Everett Wagar Senior Center, 2 Roxborough Rd, Cropseyville, has an ongoing Tag Sale table, as well as a Second Hand Clothing Closet. Money collected helps to fund activities at the center, including entertainment, games prizes, decorations, and Special events. Donations of new and/or slightly used small items are welcomed and appreciated.
We also accept assistance yarn, material and craft supplies as we have seniors that make items to donate to different organizations.

Card Game Thursdays
Thursdays at the Rensselaer County Senior Center there is Pinochle games. Like to play pinochle? Join us for lunch and a card game or two. This is great mental stimulation and a good time. Good News, Grab and Go Lunch is Available Five Days a Week
RENSSELAER – The Rensselaer County Rensselaer Senior Center are offering nutritious meals Monday through Friday. Pickup is at 11:30.
Please call the day before to order your lunch and enjoy a hot homemade meal 5 times a week.
Must be 60 years old to participate in this great program. Suggested contribution is $3 per meal. No one is denied a meal due to inability to contribute. Call 518-463-2166 for more information. Located on East and Herrick Streets.
