Poestenkill Town Board Minutes

Poestenkill Town Board – Meeting Minutes – Thursday, November 10, 2022

A representative of the Real Term Energy Company presented to the board a proposal on taking ownership of the 111 streetlights in town from National Grid and converting them to energy efficient LED lights. 

Several town residents presented the Town Board with information and a suggestion that the Town look into creating a dedicated space for a Town Park, potentially utilizing the one-time COVID relief funds. Supervisor Hammond plans to meet with this committee in the coming weeks for further discussions. 

Councilman Wohlleber made a motion to move the Noise Law resolution to a Public Hearing, there was no second and the motion failed. 

A motion was made by Councilman Hass, seconded by Councilwoman Butler to approve the preliminary 2023 Town of Poestenkill budget and was passed 3-1, with Councilman Wohlleber voting no, Councilman Van Slyke was absent. 

A motion was made by Supervisor Hammond, seconded by Councilwoman Butler to spend $167,427 to purchase a 2023 International Model CV515 truck and was passed 3-1, with Councilman Wohlleber voting no, Councilman Van Slyke was absent.

A motion was made by Supervisor Hammond, seconded by Councilman Wohlleber and passed unanimously to spend $17,500 from the Highway Fund Balance for bridge repairs on Legenbauer Road. 

These draft minutes to be approved at the next Town Board Meeting on Thursday, December 8 at 7pm. Please note that Town Board Meetings are now the second Thursday of the month.

The closest entrance for the Town Clerk’s office when dropping off your donation would be the entrance by the Gazebo in our back parking lot. Please help us keep someone a little warmer this winter by donating to our Christmas tree.
