Vendors Wanted for Holiday Vendor Fair

The Volunteer Fire Company of Center Brunswick will be hosting a Holiday Vendor Fair on Saturday, November 16th at the fire house located at 1045 Hoosick Road, Troy. We are looking for Vendors for this event. It’s a perfect time to advertise your business, showcase your products, book parties and make sales to holiday shoppers. Spaces will be available for $25 and include a table and chairs. Shopping hours will be 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. WSL Fire Co-Auxiliary Craft Fair/Tag Sale

Vendors Needed ~ The West Sand Lake Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will be holding a Craft Fair/Tag Sale on Saturday November 17th in the WSL Fire Hall from 9am -3pm. If you are interested in selling any homemade, handmade, or gently used items, we are happy to provide a table for $25.00 You keep your profits and the money from tables will go to benefit the West Sand Lake firefighters. Harvest Craft and Food Festival

Join us at a joint Harvest Craft and Food Festival on Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 9 AM to 2 PM, featuring creations from the members of Church of the Covenant in Averill Park, Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church in Troy, Bloomingrove Reformed Church in Defreestville, and First Reformed Church of Wynantskill. This ecumenical event will take place at the First Reformed Church, Corner of Main Avenue (NYS Rt. 66) and Church Streets in Wynantskill.

Each congregation will have a variety of interesting crafts for sale. There will also be homemade canned goods, specialty Royal Icing cookies, a homemade soup and salad lunch, as well as frozen homemade entrees for you to purchase for future enjoyment. In addition, there will be a combined bake sale with the proceeds benefiting community organizations.

To make your shopping experience a relaxing event, we are offering free coffee and donuts, free fresh-popped popcorn, and a free “Kids Space” where kids can enjoy face painting and create their own projects, allowing you to freely browse the many creations and goodies we have to offer.

Church Inventory Liquidation Sale

On November 16th the North Chatham United Methodist Church will be selling off a wide variety of items such as tents, tables, shelving, pallets, lights, etc. They will be auctioned off starting @ 10:00 AM. Bidder registration and previews will be available starting @ 9:30. Please note that all items are subject to prior sales and the large tents being sold will have minimum bids. Other than tents, we cannot guarantee security of items not removed on the 16th. For more information on what’s being sold please go to the church website (northchathammethodistchurch.org). The rain/snow date is 11/23 and if we decide to postpone it will be posted on our website by 7:00 PM on 11/15. The church is located at 4274 Route 203 in the hamlet of North Chatham.

Church of the Redeemer Thrift Shop

The volunteers at the Church of the Redeemer Thrift Shop work hard to provide a clean, well-organized shopping experience. The shop has a very large selection of clothing for all ages and sizes, gently used baby equipment, toys, games, puzzles, record albums, CD’S, DVD’s, household goods, collectibles, Autumn decor and an over-flowing Christmas room. You’re sure to find something you didn’t know you needed!

The shop will be open on Thursday November 14th from 3 to 6 and on Saturday November 16th from 9 to 2. Located at 1249 Third Street in Rensselaer and on CDTA route #214, the entrance is through the parking lot on the Catherine Street side.

Center Brunswick Fire Company – Holiday Vendor and Craft Fair

Join us Saturday, November 16th at the Center Brunswick Fire House, 1045 Hoosick Road, Center Brunswick (across from the Town Offices), from 9AM-2PM, for our Holiday Vendor & Craft Fair. This event will feature many local crafters and vendors for your holiday shopping needs. There will also be raffles, 50/50, bake sale, free admission and parking. We will have light breakfast items and coffee for sale as well as a hot lunch for those hungry shoppers. Proceeds from this event will benefit our 75th Anniversary celebration in August 2020.

Book Nook News

The Book Nook at Transfiguration Parish on Hillview Drive in Speigletown is open from 9:00 am until noon on Saturday, November 16, with the following half-priced author specials:   Mary Higgins Clark, Clive Cussler, Debbie Macomber and John Sandford.  Four great authors at a great price!  In addition to these half-priced specials, we have had a large donation of large print books.  Those books are on special for 3/$1!  They are great novels by some of your favorite authors!  Please stop by and check out these new donations and our selections of biographies, historical novels, cookbooks, children and young adult section and so many other sections.  Thanks for your continued support.  See you at the Book Nook!!

Hope 7 Holiday Vendor & Craft Fair

Join Hope 7 at Franklin Terrace Ballroom, 126 Campbell Ave, Troy, on November 24th, from 11AM-4PM, for our annual vendor & craft fair. This event will have over 70 crafters & vendors for all of your holiday shopping needs. The first 100 shoppers through the door get entered into a special door prize drawing. There will also be a variety of raffles, 50/50, bake sale, free admission & free parking. Proceeds from this event to benefit Hope 7’s food pantry. 4-H Invites all youth ages 5-19: Friday, November 22nd – 6:00 to 8:00pm – Brittonkill/Tamarac High School Cafeteria. Hosted by Clover Kids & Critters 4-H Club – or Sunday, December 8th – 1:00pm-3:00pm – Poestenkill Evangelical Church – Hosted by the Green Earthlings 4-H Club

Both locations will have a community service project and a project that can be made and judged on location by entering in the Winter Fair.

Tamarac location: Cupcake Decorating, Create a Holiday Picture Frame, Writing Letters for Luke to Make a Wish, option to adopt a family through Things of My Very Own.

Poestenkill location: several Natural and Recycled Projects, Writing Letters for Luke- Make a Wish, Writing Letters for a Veteran at the Albany VA Hospital. Please bring a canned good for the food pantry.

Holiday Happenings in Nassau

Visit from Santa! Holiday ornaments! Tree lighting ceremony! Sunday, December 1st the Village of Nassau will be transformed into a Holiday Wonderland for children and adults.

Santa will be visiting the Nassau Fire Department located on Chatham St. (Rt. 203). Arriving at 3:30pm, he’s inviting children to visit and spend time chatting with him. Santa will be staying until 5pm. Children can also visit the Village Youth Committee who will be making holiday ornaments at the Fire House from 3:30-4:30pm.

When the sun goes down at 5pm, the Village Commons on John St. will be the site of the annual Tree Lighting ceremony.To get everyone into the Holiday Spirit, there will be musical entertainment from members of the Nassau Community Band, a roaring bonfire and a visit from Santa. We will also be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Nassau Resource Center.

Holidays on the Hudson

The Village of Castleton-on-Hudson will kick off the Holiday season on December 1st from 3:30 to 4:30 PM at the Village Hall, 85 South Main Street. This annual event is sponsored by the Village Board, Castleton Public Library, and Castleton Fire Department. Santa will be arriving on a fire truck. There will be story time, a craft, the lighting of the outdoor tree, and the serving of light refreshments. Please join us for this Annual Holiday Tradition.

Vendor Fair at Cornerstone Community Church in Lansingburgh

Saturday, November 30 there will be a Vendor Fair at Cornerstone Community Church, 570 Third Avenue (corner of 115th St) in Lansingburgh.

There will be local businesses including craft items, bakery items, Pampered Chef and Rada. There is also a large selection of Department 56

collectibles on hand. Hours of sale are from 10AM to 1PM. Tables are still available. To reserve yours contact Jill at 518-330-8288. Lunch will be available from 11:30 to 1PM and the church’s thrift shop will also be open from 9AM to 1PM.

East Greenbush Holiday Parade on Saturday December 7, 2019

Please join us for the third annual Holiday Parade hosted by the Town of East Greenbush and the Town Emergency Services. Step-off is at 6:00 PM starting at the East Greenbush Firehouse on Philips Road, traveling north on Phillips to Columbia Turnpike, left on Columbia Turnpike and then left into Becker’s Farm. Following the parade everyone is invited to stop in at Becker’s Farm to have some snacks with Santa!

The Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church at 175 Fifth Ave. will be hosting a Christmas Fair on Friday December 13th from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM and on Saturday December 14th from 10:00 AM unit 4:00 PM. Come see the luxurious items in Wesley’s Treasures, shop for homemade crafts and baked goods, browse the book nook, pose for a fun festive photo, and join in the fun of our silent auction. New this year, Stu’s Traveling Road Show offering entertainment appraisals of jewelry!
