Castleton-Schodack Kiwanis Chicken BBQ
The Castleton-Schodack Kiwanis Club will be firing up its grills and selling its famous Chicken BBQ dinners on Sunday, January 26, 2020. This is one of our largest fundraisers and all of the money stays within our community helping to improve the lives of our community. The cost of the dinner is $10.00. Dinners can be picked up from 12:00 noon until 4:00PM at the Castleton Fire Company located on Green Ave. in Castleton. To pre-order your dinner or for more information call 518-732- 4228. Walk-ins are also welcome. If Chicken BBQ is not your thing, we always appreciate donations. Give us a call or stop by that day. Checks can be made payable to the Castleton-Schodack Kiwanis Club and mailed to PO Box 42 Castleton, NY 12033. Like Sweets? The Maple Hill High School Key Club will also be holding a bake sale on this date.

Church of the Redeemer Thrift Shop the
The volunteers at the Church of the Redeemer Thrift Shop work hard to provide a clean and organized shopping experience. The shop features clothing, jewelry, household goods, knick-knacks, puzzles, games, toys, baby equipment, wall decor, collectibles and much more. Visit on Thursday January 9th from 3 to 6 and Saturday January 11th from 9 to 2 to find amazing bargains. Located at 1249 Third Street in Rensselaer and on CDTA bus route #214 the thrift shop can be entered through the parking lot on the Catherine Street side.

Book Nook News
Happy New Year to all of our Book Nook supporters! The Book Nook at Transfiguration Parish on Hillview Drive in Speigletown is open from 9:00 am until noon on Saturday, January 18, with a winter clearance sale on ALL Books — half-priced!!! That’s $1 for most hardcovers and $.50 for most paperbacks! It looks like it’s going to be cold and snowy, so stop by and stock up on your winter reading. Great books at great prices! Don’t forget, we are still accepting donations of your gently read books at the church. The church offices are open between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday only. Please do not leave donations outside the church. Thanks for your continued support and see you at the Book Nook!

Castleton-on-Hudson Farmers & Artisans Market February Fest
The Castleton-on-Hudson Farmers & Artisans Market (COHFAM) held its inaugural Winter market in December, and the response extremely positive, so another will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at the Castleton Fire Department, 11 Green Avenue. Repair Cafe and many of the vendors are returning.
