Glendora Vegetarian Club

In the current issue of American Vegan, Dr. Brooke Goldner describes the healing power of a vegan diet. At the age of 16, she developed lupus, a debilitating autoimmune disease. When she was diagnosed, she was already in stage 4 kidney failure and was told that she had 6 months to live unless she underwent aggressive treatment involving chemotherapy and steroids. Through this regimen, Dr. Goldner went into remission for awhile before developing further health crises which led to more painful treatments. Finally, 12 years after her initial diagnosis, she met her future husband, Thomas Tadlock, who helped her find the key to regaining her health. This involved transitioning from a vegetarian diet that included cheese and processed foods to a vegan diet rich in raw greens, vegetables and omega-3 fatty acids. Today Dr. Goldman is disease free. Amen.

Did you see the vegan commercials to help the animals on Channel 6 CBS News? The message is always the same: After all is said and done, the only thing that matters is how you treat others. “Others” includes animals. This means veganism: no animal products. It all comes down to helping others, not just yourself.

Joke of the Day:

The couple could not afford to go to Niagara Falls for their honeymoon, so they went to the carwash instead.
