Glendora Vegan Club
Where does food start? In the air we have carbon dioxide and energy from the sun. Water is here, and they get together to make glucose. That is the first food. It isn’t made in the kitchen or in a restaurant. It is made with our rich surroundings that we do not think twice about. Then solar energy has been transformed into chemical energy. Don’t you rejoice at the miracle of our universe? The oxygen comes from the water. The oxygen we breathe in; the carbon dioxide we breathe out. Thus we have photosynthesis.
At 95, Glendora has been asked to give the keynote address at the annual meeting in Brooklyn of the Alliance for Community Media, the national trade association for Public Access TV. It will be hosted by Public Access TV which in Brooklyn is incorporated as Free Speech TV. Please remember that Public Access TV and Free Speech TV are synonymous.
What shall we talk about? Let’s tell them that we have done Public access TV for 53 years, that our show “A Chat With Glendora” is on 72 Public Access TV stations serving over 500 municipalities, such as Boston, Quincy, Springfield, Pittsfield, Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Portland OR, San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego, San Antonio, 10 cities in Connecticut and more. Don’t you think we should tell them about veganism? The message of my TV show is, “When all is said and done, the only thing that matters is helping others.” This includes animals.
