Brunswick Elk’s Presents a Charity Dinner For Gilead Lutheran Food Bank
Monday, May 8th at 5:30 Brunswick Elk’s Lodge, Rt. 2 Eagle Mills will host a charity Roast Beef Dinner to include mashed potatoes, vegetable rolls and desserts.

Eat Good & Do Good
That’s right, you are going to have a unique opportunity to enjoy a great chicken BAR-B-Q and do good for your community. On Thursday, May 18th Hope Lutheran Church is sponsoring a Giuliano’s of Troy Chicken BAR-B-Q. Not only will you be able to enjoy good food, but you’ll be able to do good for your community.
Here’s how it works: the full dinner, including half a chicken, potatoes, corn on the cob & coleslaw is $15.00, the Do Good part is that 100% of the profits will be divided equally between Doors of Hope, and Concerns U Food Pantries. So you see, you will Eat Good, and Do Good.

Free Pasta Dinners
The First Reformed Church of Wynantskill will continue to provide free pasta dinners every Wednesday in May from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the church on the corner of Mail Ave & Church St.
Dinners will consist of pasta, tossed salad with choice of dressing and dessert. The dinners will be drive-thru, take out only.
Taborton Turkey Supper is Back
Zion’s United Church of Christ, 741 Taborton Road, Sand Lake, NY will be having our famous turkey dinner on Saturday, June 3rd.

Hope’s Kitchen Free Community Dinner May 4
Hope’s Kitchen, a ministry of Hope Lutheran Church, Troy and Cornerstone Community Church of Lansingburgh, is serving a free community dinner at Cornerstone, 570 3rd Avenue, Troy on Thursday, May 4th. This is a sit-down meal, with an option for take-out, served from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
On the menu: Spaghetti with a choice of Sweet Italian Sausage Sauce or Marinara Sauce, tossed salad, Italian bread and butter, chocolate pudding for dessert. Coffee, tea, iced tea and lemonade for those dining in.
Reservations are required and must be in by Friday, April 28. Please call (518)235-3851. Leave your name, phone number, number of dinners needed and indicate sit-down or take-out and the time you are coming in to eat or pick up your take-out.

Iron Works BBQ at West Sand Lake Fire Co
The West Sand Lake Fire Company is hosting another Iron Works drive through BBQ Chicken & Ribs dinner Thursday, April 27th. Dinners choices are: Chicken dinner for $15.00, Rib dinner for $20.00.
Both are served with baked potato and cole slaw. Pick up time is from 4 to 6pm in the hall parking lot (3695 NY 43). This will be a first come, first served event. We are not taking reservations so I suggest you get there early. We sold out last time.
Community Spaghetti Dinner
Center Brunswick United Methodist Church, 990 Hoosick Road, Troy will hold a Community Spaghetti and Sausage Dinner on Sunday, May 7 from 4-6 pm. Meal also includes salad, bread and beverage. The Youth Group of the church will be preparing and serving the dinner.
Our Cares Closet will be available from 3pm and during the dinner. It is a take or give what you need hosted by the youth to provide household goods, clothes etc.

Spring 2023 Chicken Bar-B-Q
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Poestenkill, 772 Route 351,Poestenkill, NY 12140 will hold our Spring 2023 Chicken Bar-B-Q on Saturday, May 6th at the church with a Drive-Thru, Take-Out Only dinner.
The meal consists of: 1/2 chicken, baked potato, green beans, Cole slaw, cranberry sauce, roll and choice of Cherry or Lemon Meringue pie for dessert for a donation of $17 per meal.
Pick-up time begins at 4:30 pm and ends at 6 pm. We strongly encourage you to pre-order your meals early by calling (518) 283-1447. Reservations are suggested as our last dinner sold out. Thank you for your support.
First Reformed Church Community Dinners
The First Reformed Church (corner of NYS Route 66 and Church St in Wynantskill) will be providing free pasta dinners once again.
The dinners will be available every Wednesday evening from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm and will be drive-thru take out only event No reservations are needed.
Troy Kiwanis Annual Chicken BBQ
The Kiwanis Club of Troy is again holding their annual Chicken BBQ. It will again be at St. Michael’s Church at 175 Williams Road next to HVCC, on Friday, May 12th from 4-6pm.
All dinners are freshly barbequed on site, that day, & packaged for take-out.
They include a half chicken, baked potato, coleslaw and cornbread. All dinners are $15.00

Pork Roast Dinner Returning to Schaghticoke Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian United Church in partnership with Diver Library will hold a Pork Roast Dinner on Saturday, April 29. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for kids under 10.

Glendora Vegeterian Club
You know, folks, I’ve been telling my contemporaries to stop eating meat. They did not. They are all now horizontal, and here I stand vertically, all alone. Why? Veganism!
Again, folks, what is “vegan”? A vegan is a person who will not eat animals, wear animals, exploit or steal the graces God has given them, such as fur, honey, or bones. A vegan believes you extend the kindness you show other human beings to the members of the animal kingdom. Some may ask “Why should we treat an animal with behavior that we frequently don’t even offer to all humans?” To that, I encourage you to think of and then practice expanding and increasing your positive behavior and feelings towards others, rather than limiting and restricting. Your capability for kindness is infinite!
