Castleton-Schodack Kiwanis Chicken BBQ – March 26th
The Castleton-Schodack Kiwanis Club will be firing up the grill and selling our famous Chicken BBQ dinners on Sunday, March 26th.
This is one of our largest fundraisers, and all of the proceeds stay right here in our community. The cost of the dinners is now $12 each, and each meal includes a half-chicken, baked potato and coleslaw. Dinners can be picked up between 12:00 and 4:00pm behind the Castleton Fire Company, located at 11 Green Ave in the village of Castleton.

Also, the Maple Hill Jr/Sr HS Class of 2023 will be holding a bake sale, so you can satisfy that sweet tooth. Hope to see you on March 26th – great food for a great cause!
Troy Scouts Hold Fundraising Breakfast at Pawling Avenue Methodist Church
TROY, NY — The Scouts of Troy’s Troop 502 will hold their annual fundraising breakfast on Saturday, March 18, at the Pawling Avenue Methodist Church, located at 520 Pawling Avenue in Troy.
Doors open at 8 a.m. and the Scouts will be serving pancakes and bacon until 10:30 a.m.
Cost will be $8 for adults and $5 for kids ten and under.
Troop 502 provides Scouting for boys in the Troy and North Greenbush area.The Scouts of Troop 502 go camping, hiking, backpacking, canoeing and spend a week at summer camp.
Scouting teaches young men and women skills ranging from cooking to first aid, and also teaches citizenship, public speaking, and leadership. Scouts can earn over 130 merit badges in subjects ranging from electronics to kayaking.
Money earned at the breakfast will go to help underwrite the cost of Scouting activities.
Come out for a great breakfast, meet some Scouts, and support Scouting in your neighborhood.
Food for the breakfast is being donated by Stewart’s Shops and Hannaford Supermarket in Wynantskill.
The Friends of the Castleton Public Library Breakfast Fundraiser
Saturday, March 18th from 9-11am at Rensselaer Elks Lodge 2073; 683 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush.
Breakfast includes: 2 eggs, Bacon or Sausage, Home Fries, Toast, Pancakes, Juice, Coffee or tea for $11. Thank you for supporting the library!
Schodack Valley Pizza and Wings Night
We hope to see you Saturday, March 18th for our monthly pizza and wings night. We hold this fundraiser at our firehouse at 1553 Schodack Valley Rd., Castleton. Hours are 4-7 pm. We offer dine in or take out. To place a to go order please call 477-4215.
We our proud of our fresh home made pizzas, salads and antipastos. Our extra large wings are outstanding! We offer a very large beverage selection as well. The special pie of the month is the almost world famous Rueben pizza in honor of St. Patrick’s day.
Community Dinners
The First Reformed Church (corner of NYS Route 66 and Church St in Wynantskill) will be providing free pasta dinners once again.
The dinners will be available every Wednesday evening from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm and will be drive-thru take out only event No reservations are needed.

Good Friday Clam Chowder Sale
Manhattan Clam Chowder is on sale at Center Brunswick United Methodist Church, 990 Hoosick Road, Troy.

East Schodack Fire Co Roast Beef Dinner
The East Schodack Fire Company will hold a take home Roast Beef Dinner, to benefit the ESFC Scholarship Fund, on Saturday March 25th at 3071 Rt.150. Dinner will be: Tender Sliced Roast Beef, Burgundy Gravy, Homemade Mashed Potatoes, Fresh Seasoned Vegetable Medley, Garden Salad, Rolls and Chocolate Pie for dessert.

Troy Kiwanis Annual Chicken BBQ
The Kiwanis Club of Troy is again holding their annual Chicken BBQ. It will again be at St. Michael’s Church at 175 Williams Road next to HVCC, on Friday, May 12th from 4-6pm.
All dinners are freshly barbequed on site, that day, & packaged for take-out.

Lasagna Dinner
The Melrose United Methodist Church (located at 20 Church Street, Melrose, NY 12121) will hold a Lasagna Dinner on Saturday, March 25, 2023.
Take outs start at 4:30pm. Dine-in seating is from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Tickets are $13 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for children under 5.

St Pats/ American Legion Birthday
Continue your Saint Patrick’s day/weekend and celebrate the American Legion Birthday at the same time. Melvin Roads celebrates The American Legion ‘s 104 years as a Veterans Service organization on March 18th, 2023.
This year we have music by DJ Johnny O, a Corned beef & Cabbage Dinner, Chinese Auction, 50/50, and Basket of Cheer Raffle. Cocktail hour is 5 to 6 PM with Dinner at 6, Chinese Auction at 7 PM, tickets are $30 each or two for $50, available at our bar daily. Melvin Roads is open to everyone at 200 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush, New York.
Come down after the parade on March 11th 2023 and enjoy the band, with your favorite Irish drink. Come back the following week for our celebration. We also have a Veterans & friends breakfast every Thursday morning from 8 to 10 AM. Support Veterans, Support Melvin Roads, and have some fun.

Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us! St. Henry’s Church in Averil Park and The Knights of Columbus will be holding a Feast of St. Patrick on Friday, March 17th. at St. Henry’s Church.
There will be a mass at 5:30 pm followed by a gathering in the Community Room from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. We will be serving Reubens, German Potato salad, hot dogs, beverages, and snacks.
