Glendora Vegetarian Club

We would like to thank the 8 women who ran The Advertiser for more than 30 years, giving us community information that was so necessary. The new people also seem to be doing well.

Are you confused as to the meaning of “vegan”? Our textbook Vegan Living defines it well. “A vegan is one who avoids causing harm or exploiting other living beings as much as humanly possible. This involves excluding all animal foods and all animal-based items from their lives.”

The Glendora Vegetarian Club recommends 3 vegan eateries: Berben & Wolff on Lark St. in Albany; Berben & Wolff on Fourth St. in Troy; THRIVE on Weconah St. in Pittsfield. On the last Wednesday of October, meet us for good cheer, good company, good thought and good food at 6 p.m. at Berben & Wolff in Troy.

Glendora’s Jokes:

1. One woman said to another, “Did your dad die a natural death?”

“No, he had a doctor.”

2. They say teenagers don’t know the value of a dollar. They do. That’s why they ask for 20.

3. Why did the inventor cross the electric blanket with a toaster? So people would pop out of bed in the morning.

4. Behind every successful man there is a proud wife and a flabbergasted mother-in-law.

5. The politician won in all the outlying districts. During the campaign he was out lying in all of them.

6. Old quarterbacks never die; they just pass away.

7. Why can’t they manufacture a windshield that won’t hold a parking ticket?

May the peace of God that passes all understanding dwell in your heart and mind. In Philippians, the Apostle Paul said that he had taught himself to be content no matter in what state he found himself. That would have included the state of New York!
