All You Can Eat Breakfast

The Poestenkill Christian Church, 721 Snyder’s Corners Rd., Poestenkill, NY will have it’s monthly All You Can Eat Breakfast on Saturday, August 3rd from  8:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Cost is $8.00 for adults and $3.50 for children under 10.  Menu includes eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, home fries, pancakes, french toast, juice, coffee or tea.

Northern Tier Picnic

Rensselaer County’s Hoosick Falls Senior Center and Everett Wagar Senior Center members will host the Northern Tier Picnic on August 8, 2019 at the St. Stanislaw Polish Hall Pavilion at 12 Mechanic Street, Hoosick Falls. This covered dish event is open to all Rensselaer County residents 60 and older. Thank you to our sponsors – CDPHP, BSNENY, MVP and Fidelis for making this event possible, and to local businesses that made a donation for prizes. We will have bingo and games, live music entertainment by Bob Treffiletti, and door prizes. Please bring a covered dish to share. This is an event you won’t want to miss. Free Community Meal

Hopes Kitchen will provide a free summertime community meal.  Serving will begin at 3:30 on Thursday August 8th, and end at 6:30.  Your choice of summertime sandwiches and sides.  There will be refreshing drinks, and delicious desserts.

Open to everyone in the community.  Hopes Kitchen is located at the Rensselaer Presbyterian church at 34 Broadway, Rensselaer.  Look for our sidewalk sign directing you to the entrance.  Plan now to join us for good food, fellowship, and music.

VFW Post 7466 Breakfast Buffet “All You Can Eat”

“VFW’s Breakfast Buffet” on Sunday, August 11th   – 8:00 to 11:00. Buffet featuring eggs, breakfasts meats, home fries, pancakes, homemade French toast, fruit cocktail, juice, tea and coffee.   Waffles you can top with strawberry, apples, whip cream, vanilla ice cream, or chocolate syrup.  “Build your own Omelets” with ham, bacon sausage, cheeses, mushrooms, peppers and onions.  Adult regular buffet $8.00, buffet with waffle $9 or buffet with omelet $11 / Children 6-12 $4.00 & Children under 5 free.   The Auxiliary will be selling tickets for their 15th  Annual Pig Roast and Chicken BBQ during the breakfast or can be purchased in the Post Canteen. Tickets are $20.00 with a dish or $30.00 without dish, deadline is August 25th after which all tickets will be $30.00.  Children under 10 free.

Knights And Daughters Of Vartan Annual Summer Picnic

August 11:  The Knights and Daughters of Vartan will hold their Annual Summer Picnic at the Postoian Pavilion of St. Peter Armenian Church on Sunday, August 11, starting at 12:00 noon (meal served at 1:30pm).  Bring your family and friends for good food, fun and a Tavloo tournament.  Cost is $25 per person with choice of steak or chicken and includes corn, salad and dessert.  All are cordially invited; however, reservations are required by August 4 by contacting Paul Kahian at (518) 364-1037.

Drive Thru only Lobster Dinner

Salem United Methodist Church hosts its Drive Thru only Lobster Dinner, Thursday, August 15, 2019.  Menu includes Garden Tossed Salad, Whole Lobster with Baked Potato and Corn, Cake for dessert.  Dinner is from 4:30pm-6:00pm.  Cost is $20.00 per person.  Advanced reservations are required for this dinner and must be in no later than Tuesday, August 13.  Reservations can be made by call/text George at 518-603-1296 or call/text Carol at 518-330-7609.  SUMC is located at 349 Shaver Road (off Route 150). BBQ Chicken Dinner Fundraiser For Make-A-Wish NENY

The 8th Annual Bobbie Arsenault Memorial Event & Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, August 17th from 11am – 4pm at Butler Park, Gettle Rd. in Averill Park rain or shine.  Dinners will be served between 2:30 – 4:00 pm and can be eat-in or take-out.  Cost of the BBQ dinner is $12. Annual Lobster Or Steak Bake

East Greenbush, NY — Van Rensselaer Star Chapter #256, Order of the Eastern Star and Van Rensselaer Lodge #87, F&AM, in East Greenbush are holding their annual Lobster or Steak Bake on Saturday, August 24th from 4 – 6 p.m. You may eat in or take out. The cost is $25 and reservations with money are required and binding. The menu includes: lobster or steak, baked potato, corn-on-the-cob, coleslaw, dessert and beverage.

Reservations must be placed by calling Nancy @ 477-7101. Deadline for reservations is August 20th. Take-out orders can be picked up at the Masonic Temple, 710 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush after 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 24th.

How much money has Glendora Vegetarian Club spent on vegan television commercials since April, 2018? $49,160 on CBS, Channel 6 and $1900 on ABC, Channel 10. How many 30 second television ads did that buy? 263 on Channel 6 and 100 on Channel 10. How many 30 second television commercials did Glendora TV Ads create to help the animals? 115.

You are invited to attend Glendora Vegetarian Club the last Wednesday of every month at 45 Elm St., Nassau Village, at 6 p.m. Bring a potluck dish, no animal products. We discuss Go Vegan with Me by Mary Lawrence, Powerful Vegan Thoughts by Jay Dinshaw and statements from our textbook. We also sing our 3 theme songs. How much money has the club contributed to the animal cause? $32,000, not including the TV advertising. We have spent 2000 hours in meetings and have kept 900 pages of records.
