Columbia Students Reach Ambassador level in Girl Scouts
Columbia High School Students from NENY Girl Scout Service Unit 136,Troop 1474 reached the Ambassador Level of scouting. Each girl has been active members of their troop and are excited to continue in Girl Scouts. The Ambassador Level is the highest Level a Girl Scout can reach. These girls will Focus on leader ship skills, community service and mentoring younger Girl Scouts throughout the next two years. The girls reaching this level are Bailey Tator, Brigid Mack, Bella Dupont, Ava Johnson (pictured) Annie Patwell, Kara Sesonske, Meghan Sambrook, Brianna Valenti and Katelynn White (not pictured).
Local Girl Scouts earn Silver and Gold Torch Award
Girls from Service Unit 136, Troop 1474 earned the Silver and Gold Torch Award. This award recognizes a Girl Scout Senior who acts as a leader in her community. Requirements include completing a Girl Scout Journey, being an active troop member and contributing to her community by holding a leadership position in a school or community organization. Award recipients Ava Johnson, Bailey Tator and Brigid Mack.

Rensselaer County Recovery Helpline
Do you need help with substance use issues? Are you interested in volunteering for the helpline? The Rensselaer County Recovery Helpline offers information, local resources, and referrals for individuals and their families regarding substance use issues. The toll-free line is available 7 days a week from 9am-9pm. Each volunteer chooses shifts of 4 hours at a time to be on-call. When someone calls the number, a volunteer answers on their own smartphone, and can enter information to a database on their own computer, allowing for easy and quick access to resources. The information is sent to one of the 9 leaders, who will then assist the caller.
