Hope Lutheran Church Blue Christmas Healing Service

Join us on Thursday, December 6th, 7pm, at 470 Winter St. Ext., Troy (Defreestville). This service is one of candlelight, one of hope and comfort for those who are suffering from a loss, hardship of illness, death of a loved one, divorce, job loss, or are feeling alone, anxious or feeling “blue” or depressed for other reasons.

Those looking for comfort, hope and renewal are invited for a time of quiet reflection with silent prayer during candle lighting (if desired), special music, scripture, and anointing. Pastor Jeniffer Tillman will share words of reassurance; God offers hope in his sustaining presence in our suffering, even when we cannot “feel” it.

You are invited to join us for lite refreshments following service. All are welcome to bring friends and family for this opportunity to aide healing in preparation for the holidays.

Advent & Christmas Projects Gilead Lutheran Church

Community Ministry at Gilead Lutheran Church has begun their annual winter project. We collect hats, scarves, and mittens for those people who are unable to provide their own insulation from the winter and would otherwise have to face the bitter cold. Also, being collected are underwear and socks, all sizes for women, men and children. The items we receive will be taken to Joseph’s house for distribution.

If you would like to help with this project, a plastic bin has been placed at the side doors on the south side of the building.

Because of the overwhelming response of plastic bags, we will suspend the collection of them for now.

Gilead Lutheran Church is located at the intersection of Routes 7 & 278 in the Town of Brunswick and we are handicapped accessible. 518-279-9270

Join Us During Advent at the Nassau Grace UM Church

In a season of holiday haste and hustle, Advent calls us to slow down and prepare. In a world of darkness and violence, the church proclaims a message of light and hope. In a world of division and fear, the coming of the Christ child reminds us of the healing power of love.

Your friends and neighbors invite you to join us during the four Sundays of Advent on December 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd for our weekly service at 10 am. Held in our historic and beautifully decorated sanctuary, children are invited to take part in our Sunday School starting midway through the service.  This year’s Advent theme is based on a program written by Marcia McFee. Each service will highlight a different phrase from the favorite Christmas hymn, “Silent Night.”

On Monday, December 24th, at 7 pm, a traditional candlelight service will be held. The joyous worship celebration will contain scripture, carols, a Christmas message and lighting of candles.

The church is located at 42 Church Street, Route 20 in Nassau Village. For additional information, please contact Pastor Dion Marquit. Text or Call: 518-915-3393.
