Zion’s UCC of Taborton Summer Festival
SAND LAKE – Come join us on August 7, 2021, for our 112th annual Summer Festival and Chicken BBQ at Zion’s United Church of Christ in Taborton (741 Taborton Road in Sand Lake).
Booths are open from 11:00am to 7:00pm and music by Cannonball Express with Gloria & Punky from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
Games for both kids and adults include the fishpond, ring toss, milk bottle, duck float and dart booths. Enjoy our food and fancy booths and visit the raffle table with prizes from many local businesses.
Taborton Treasures offers our version of a large yard sale and there will be an auction in the early afternoon. Chicken BBQ ($15.00) will be served at 4:30 and 5:30pm. For reservations call Diane Hoffman at 674-2746 or Jane Weber at 258-4307.

Infant and Children Clothing Sale at Church of the Redeemer
RENSSELAER – Thank you to all who participated in making our first Bag Sale effort so successful. Thrift Shop will open normally on Saturday, August 07, from 9-2. On Thursday, August 12, from 3-6 we will hold a special sale of infants and children’s clothing – Buy One Get One of equal or lessor value Free.
Sunday service continues throughout August at 9:00 with coffee hour following.
Hot Mess Crafters meets in the Hearth Room at 10:00 AM on Wednesday.
Bible Study is on Wednesday at 4:00 in the Hearth Room. We are using Max Lucado’s “You’ll Get through This” as our guide to learning the remedies God provides for dealing with challenges in our personal lives.
The Church of the Redeemer is an Episcopal church located on CDTA bus route #214 at the corner of Third and Catherine Streets. There is handicap parking, a ramp in front, and a parking lot in the rear.

WEST SAND LAKE – Twenty-five years ago, Salem United Methodist Church took on a new ministry, the Jubilee Child Day Care. With an outpouring of support from the community, we were able to renovate our building and grounds and equip the day care program for opening within a few short months. Fast forward to the present, Jubilee continues to offer quality day care for families in our community, and the community continues to support the day care program.
To the many people who joined us for the 25th Jubilee Anniversary Patsy Cline Tribute Concert on July 23rd, Thank You! Your attendance made for an evening of community at Salem Church and your ticket purchases will enhance our day care program. The Flood Relief boot collected $59 which will be matched and given to the West Sand Lake Fire Department. Special thanks to Magician Jim Snack who generously donated his time and talent, and to the generous and talented Courtney Shayne Karl for her professional performance.
