Brunswick Church Vacation Bible School
TROY – Brunswick Church 42 White Church Lane Troy will hold VBS from 9-12 on July 5-9. It is free to all children age 4 through finished grade 5. The theme is Rocky Railway, Jesus’ Power Will Pull Us Through. Activities will include crafts, games, fun songs, skits, snacks, Bible stories and mission opportunities. RENSSELAER – There will be no Thrift Shop on Saturday, July 03 so that everyone can spend the holiday weekend with family and friends celebrating our country’s birthday. Thrift Shop will be open on July 8 and July 17 this month.
Sunday service throughout the summer is at 9:00 with coffee hour following.
Hot Mess Crafters meets on Wednesday at 10 AM. We invite you to join our group as we learn and create homemade treasures.
Bible Study is held on Wednesday at 4:00 in the Hearth Room.
We have started a new program about dealing with challenges in our personal lives entitled “Down and out, but never alone”.

Patsy Cline is coming to West Sand Lake July 23!
WEST SAND LAKE – In celebration of the 25th anniversary of its Jubilee Child Day Care ministry, Salem Church and Jubilee are proud to present an evening of fun with Courtney Shayne Karl as the legendary Patsy Cline.
Courtney brings life to the music of an iconic American performer. In the 50’s and 60’s, Patsy Cline took country music to the pop charts. Courtney, a professional Patsy Cline tribute artist for over 10 years, will transport us back in time to the days when Patsy graced the stages and air waves of America.
Join us Friday evening, July 23, outdoors around the pole barn at Salem Church on Shaver Rd, West Sand Lake from 6-8pm. Bring the whole family, bring all your friends, and bring your lawn chairs or blanket! Food truck and refreshments available. Tickets at the door $15, pre-sale $12, and children ages 5-18 $5. Zion’s UCC of Taborton Summer Festival
SAND LAKE – Come join us on August 7, 2021, for our 112th annual Summer Festival and Chicken BBQ at Zion’s United Church of Christ in Taborton (741 Taborton Road in Sand Lake).
Booths are open from 11:00am to 7:00pm and music by Cannonball Express with Gloria & Punky from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
Games for both kids and adults include the fishpond, ring toss, milk bottle, duck float and dart booths. Enjoy our food and fancy booths and visit the raffle table with prizes from many local businesses.
Taborton Treasures offers our version of a large yard sale and there will be an auction in the early afternoon. Chicken BBQ ($15.00) will be served at 4:30 and 5:30pm. For reservations call Diane Hoffman at 674-2746 or Jane Weber at 258-4307.
Summer at Saint John’s Episcopal Church
TROY – With decreasing restrictions, Sunday in-person worship continues at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The 8 a.m. spoken service follows a more ancient Eucharistic Rite in Elizabethan English. The 10 a.m. modern Eucharistic Rite is preceded by hymns on the tower chime and is both live-streamed and in-person. Hymns are accompanied on the regal pipe organ, and Communion music is performed by a contemporary duo of vocalists with guitar. Coffee hour follows, either in the garden if the weather permits, or in the gym.
The Thrift Store is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, for shopping as well as dropping off items. On Saturday mornings the church also offers bread, pastries, and coffee, at no charge. Visitors may drop into the garden and enjoy these treats, relaxing in the church’s Adirondack chairs. (Neither the Thrift Store nor the treats will be available on Saturday, July 3rd.) The monthly Food Pantry will be from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturdays, July 10th and August 7th.
Saint John’s is an Episcopal Church, located at 146 1st Street in Troy. Its parking lot is across the street.
