Indoor Yard Sale Cancelled

AVERILL PARK – Due to the coronavirus, the annual Indoor Yard Sale at Church of the Covenant in Averill Park (which was rescheduled from June to July) is now cancelled. Our Clothing Rummage Sale is still planned for October (clothing, bedding, linens, fabric/sewing notions, etc). Please watch The Advertiser for updated information.

BRUNSWICK – Brunswick Church will be having a free Vacation Bible School online this year, weekdays July 6-31. Detailed information and how to register and receive a craft kit is on our web site, brunswickchurch.org.

Presbyterian United Church Auction

SCHAGHTICOKE – The Presbyterian United Church at 165 Main St. in Schaghticoke will be holding an Auction of many baskets filled with a variety of wonderful items from July 6, 2020 to July 11, 2020. All baskets and items may be viewed on the church’s Facebook page beginning July 6th through the end of the auction on Saturday, July 11th. On July 10th at 6 pm, a review and description of the items will take place and the auction will open for bidding, all on the church’s Facebook page. On July 11th, an update with regard to the bidding will be reviewed, one update is planned during the morning hours and one in the afternoon; successful bidders will be notified after the 3 pm closing of the auction. All proceeds from this auction will benefit the renovation/installation of a church kitchen which, upon completion, will also be available for community use. For those who would like to donate baskets, please note that items must be received by June 30th.

Church of the Redeemer

RENSSELAER – Sunday Services are at 8:00 and 9:30. There is a sanitizing station as you enter the Church with face masks if you do not have your own. Guidelines from the diocese include using hand sanitizer, wearing face masks which cover both the nose and the mouth, and social distancing. The church is marked 6 ft. intervals to aid in social distancing. Hugs and handshakes are not allowed. Communion will be offered only by host.

Coffee hour and is suspended until further notice.

Bible Study is currently suspended.

The Church of the Redeemer is located in Rensselaer at the corner of Third and Catherine Streets.

Gilead Outdoor Services

CENTER BRUNSWICK – Gilead Lutheran Church will hold drive-in worship services in the parking lot at 308 Brick Church Road (Routes 7 and 278 in Center Brunswick) on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. until further notice. Social distancing guidelines will be followed. The service will be conducted through a low band radio transmitter. We will ask that all vehicles park six feet from an adjacent vehicle. A chair can be used if the six feet distance is kept. Lutheran Books of Worship will be loaned to each person as we continue these services. Communion will be administered using self-contained, disposable juice cups with the host. On-line services will still be available through Facebook and YouTube by going to our web site, www.gileadlutheran.org. Please join us as we take the opportunity to wave to our friends, neighbors, and visitors and praise God in this beautiful outdoor sanctuary.

Brunswick Cares Food Pantry Services

TROY – Brunswick Cares Food Pantry will continue to operate Tuesday 5-7pm and Saturday 9-11am with a ‘drive-up’ pre-packaged service. Social distancing rules apply:

1. Stay in car if another guest is at the door

2. Please only come to the bottom of the steps and maintain at least 6 feet and we will take your order

3. Please wait in your car and we will bring your order to you.
