Dessert of the Month Drawing

POESTENKILL – Don’t miss your chance to purchase one ticket to win 12 full-sized homemade desserts -one every month for a year! Tickets are only $12 each or 2 for $20, and are available at the library desk during library hours as well as at Market Day on Sept. 11th. Proceeds will support the many important projects of the Friends of the Poestenkill Library. This year’s offerings include such delicacies as Derby Pie, Carrot Cake, Apple Pie, and a Platter of Holiday Cookies. The winner does not need to be present for the drawing which will be part of the 20th anniversary event on Saturday, Sept. 18th. The winner will pick up a dessert at the library on the 3rd Saturday of each month from October 2021 through September 2022.

Meditation Group

TROY – The Troy Public Library will offer Meditation Classes on Tuesdays, through September 28th at 2PM at our Lansingburgh Branch.

Are you interested in learning how to relax your mind and body? Come to a safe place to let go of your cares and worries. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, all are welcome. Bring your ideas and suggestions to the group!

North Greenbush Public Library Update

NORTH GREENBUSH – Many thanks to our North Greenbush neighbors for passing the library’s 2022 budget. We look forward to seeing you this year as we bring aboard new movies, continued internet connection, and books hot off the press for all ages. Come in and say hello!

Little ones and their guardians should not miss out on our new outdoor storytime every Tuesday at 11 AM on the front lawn, weather permitting. Join Ms. Donna for stories, songs, and a simple craft.

Meet in person for our next virtual book club discussion on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 6:30 PM behind Town Hall (near the Gazebo). Bring a chair and get ready to ferret out “Who Killed Hazel Drew,” the book by Ron Hughes. We will Zoom if the weather is uncooperative. Email library@nullnorthgreenbushlibrary.org to request a copy of the book.

The public is invited to attend the library’s Board of Trustees meeting, Thursday, Sept 23 at 7 PM, in the meeting room at Eastwyck Village at 1 Eastwyck Circle (off Best Road). Masks are required.

Sand Lake Town Library News

SAND LAKE – September is Library Card Sign-Up Month at Sand Lake Town Library! All kids getting their first library card at SLT Library can also select a free book to keep.

The SLT Library Board of Trustees will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, September 16 at 6:45pm in the Town Hall Kitchen. The public is welcome to join us. Please note that masks are required In the building.

Looking for something to do this fall? Pack up the kids and the snacks and hit the road on a StoryWalk™ Expedition! Find StoryWalks™ on library grounds or in places libraries have partnered with, like our own Butler Park here in Sand Lake. September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! A library card gives you access to free books, movies, magazines, museum passes, digital collections, & more. Don’t have a card yet? Sign up this month & we’ll give you a special welcome gift! Adults need valid photo ID & a piece of mail showing your current address. Youth under age 16 need to bring their parent/guardian to sign them up.

Unless otherwise indicated, our in-person events will be held outdoors. Drop in – no need to register! We’ll have a tent on the lawn to protect from sun & drizzle. In case of inclement weather, events will be cancelled. If you’re unsure of the impact of weather on an outdoor event, please call before you come.

Teen Time: Sharpie Tie Dye – Thu, 9/23, 4:00pm – Simple, fun tie-dyeing using Sharpies! Bring a t-shirt or other item. For teens in 6th-12th grades.
