TROY – The Troy Public Library will offer Meditation Classes on Tuesdays, through September 28th at 2PM at our Lansingburgh Branch.

Are you interested in learning how to relax your mind and body? Come to a safe place to let go of your cares and worries. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, all are welcome. Bring your ideas and suggestions to the group!

Pop Up Book and DVD Sale

TROY – Books, Books, Books: The Friends of The Troy Public Library are having a major “gently used” book and DVD sale in conjunction with the Alley Rally, the huge neighborhood garage sale in South Central Troy. August 28, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Rain date: August 29, 10-2). Find us in the alley behind 159 First St. Troy. All proceeds to benefit the Troy Public Library.

Poestenkill Library Market Day is Back!

POESTENKILL – The Friends of the Poestenkill Library invite you to Market Day on the Library lawn on Saturday, September 11 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Market Day includes selections of books, baked goods, and jigsaw puzzles for sale, plus gift basket drawings and a hot dog stand with homemade chili. Come to 9 Plank Road, Poestenkill 12140, for a chance to see neighbors and other nice people and celebrate community. All proceeds of the Friends Market Day directly benefit the Library. The Poestenkill Farmers Market on the Town Hall lawn nearby will also be open with vendors of produce, flowers, food, and crafts. Make a morning of it! Dessert of the Month Drawing Returns

POESTENKILL –  The Friends of the Poestenkill Library are once again selling tickets for the popular Dessert of the Month drawing. This year there are 3 prizes: 1st prize is 12 full size homemade desserts, one each month for the next year, with one lucky winner winning ALL 12 desserts. 2nd prize is a basket of chocolate goodies. 3rd prize is a $25 gift certificate to the Cookie Factory. Tickets are available at the Poestenkill Library and will be sold through Sept 18th. You can also buy one at Fall Market Day on September 11th from 9 to 12:30 on the library lawn. Please stop by the Poestenkill Library for a listing of the dessert available each month (pies, cakes, cheesecakes and more). Tickets are $12 each or 2 tickets for $20 and would make a wonderful gift—for yourself or someone special. You need not be present to win.

EAST GREENBUSH – The library is open! Come in, browse and borrow: Mon/Tue/Thu 10-6; Wed 10-8; Fri/Sat 10-4; Closed Sunday. Virtual library is open 24/7/365. Holiday Closures: September 4-6 for Labor Day. *New Hours* (begin 9/7): M-F, 10-8; Sat 10-5; Sun. 1-5.

North Greenbush Public Library District Election

NORTH GREENBUSH – The Board of Trustees of the North Greenbush Public Library invites all registered voters of the Town of North Greenbush to vote in an election to be held on September 9, 2021 from 10 AM to 8 PM at the North Greenbush Public Library in the North Greenbush Municipal Building, Main Avenue, Wynantskill, NY. Absentee ballots are available from the North Greenbush Public Library (visit http://www.northgreenbushlibrary.org/ for details on obtaining and casting an absentee ballot). Two issues will be decided: (1) whether the proposed budget of $324,681.00 is approved for 2022; and (2) the election of two trustees.
