East Greenbush Community Library Public Hearing on Preliminary 2021 Budget

EAST GREENBUSH – The East Greenbush Community Library will be holding a virtual public hearing on the preliminary 2021 budget on Tuesday, August 4th at 7:00 pm. A second proposal on the ballot will be the election of two, five-year positions on the Library’s Board of Trustees. East Greenbush registered voters who wish to be considered as candidates to the Board of Trustees can pick up an information packet at the library. The deadline for returning nominating petitions is August 16 at 5:00 pm.

The election to determine the budget and trustee will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Registered voters in the Town of East Greenbush are eligible to vote.

BRUNSWICK – Weekly youth take home activities! Call (518) 279-4023 to register for a craft and sign up for Summer Reading. Storytime in a bag are offered daily when open. We are open Mon. – Fri. 10 – 6 and Sat. 10-2

Rensselaer Public Library: August events

RENSSELAER – Imagine Your Story summer reading club is still accepting registration, go to our website for details. Participants will receive a free ice cream from Stewart’s Shops for registering. We are having different “take and make” craft kits each week.

The Library is open for limited hours and by appointment, we suggest you call 462-1193 before visiting. Masks must be worn in the building. For those that can’t wear masks, we will still be providing curbside service.

Myths of Science: Wednesday August 5, 6 PM. Science fun starring the “Dirtmeister” Steve Tomecek, on Zoom. Using a variety of wild and wacky demonstrations, Steve will explore more than a dozen common science “facts” that in some cases are simply magnificent myths and urban legends. North Greenbush Public Library Update

NORTH GREENBUSH – Summer Reading continues! The North Greenbush Public Library has expanded it with Teen RIF (Read It Forward) books, featuring two

books, “Nimona” a graphic novel by Noelle Stevenson, and “Croak” by Gina Damico. How does Teen RIF work? Read one of the books, add your

thoughts and opinions (optional) then pass the book on to a friend, who continues reading and sharing. Just keep “Reading-It-Forward!” The books

are free and need not be returned to the library. Call the library to reserve a RIF book, then pick it up through our Grab ’N’ Go option. And log your reading

on ReadSquared at http://northgreenbushny11.readsquared.com.

We continue to offer ready-made take-home craft kits in Summer Reading for children ages 3-7, and a separate set of craft kits for children 8

years and older. New kits will be added every two weeks. Available through our Grab ’N’ Go pick-up option, call the library to reserve a kit for pickup. Supplies are limited. Adults and children–if you haven’t registered, go to http://northgreenbushny11.readsquared.com.

You don’t need an appointment to pick up your reserved books, CDs or DVDs. Use the library’s Grab ’N’ Go pick-up option. To make copies, print, fax, or browse for items, appointments are required. They are available M/W/F between 10 AM and 2 PM; Tu/Th between 3 PM and 7 PM.

Appointments are limited to 20 minutes allowing only three patrons an hour in the library to accommodate social distancing, cleaning, and

disinfecting. All patrons entering the library must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth. Call the library at 518-283-0303 for Grab ’N’ Go or

to make an appointment.
